of the pot right? so say it asks for about 2 tbs per gallon use (of a pot i'm assuming).....what amount of water should be put in to mix the nutrients and then add.

also.........when having to water the plant again in the same day..........should i use the same nutrients? or should i give it something else?

my 3rd day of germinating ends tomorrow and soon to put in the pot. Should i just add water with no nutrients into the soil first.....then plant in the seed?

thank you

I wouldn't use any nutrients until week 2 or 3 you probably should do a little more reading on these boards particularly here and the INDOOR Grow section of the site (assuming that's the route you're going). I'm 2 weeks into my first grow in soil, I started out just misting the top layer of soil for a few days 'til it sprouted then gave them some water. Spring Water or Distilled Water only avoid tap as it can throw of Ph and other aspects of your grow. Definitely don't start out dosing it with nutrients it can't be good.

yeah kaya is right just water for the first 2-3 weeks . Also your nutes are always per gallon of water not the gallonage of your pot. Dont worry about nutes yet that will come ................

if it says to add say 2 tsp per gallon, that is per gallon of water used , not the pot size.

But as already stated plants do not need feeding, when in soil, until the third or fourth week, and then nutes should be added at half strength to begin with and built up.

oh ok, thank you very much. i was first thinking it was maybe per gallon of water but then thought it can't be.......must be the size of the pots they are talking about. Thanks again! very helpfull

oh and one more question..........being that i shouldn't worry about the nutrients till week 2 or 3, should i not also worry about the PH balance? or should i make sure it's between the numbers it should be?

Are you germinating in paper towels right now? If so, then no. Wait until they have the tap root. Be patient.

yes, i'm using paper towels doing the plate method of using 2 plates, covering them with tape and leaving it on top of a cable box

oh and i am only using 5 seeds. i read that just putting one will not germinate. is 5 good enough? or throw in the rest? i wanted to just use 5 to see how well i do

Only germinating 5 seeds is fine, although you do run a small chance of ending up with not a single female. I wouldn't worry about that though. Even if that happens (which it shouldn't), you'll still have gained an immense amount of knowledge and experience, and only lost a few weeks and a few seeds.

Wait until they crack and show the little white tap root. Then you can plant them VERY carefully (use tweezers), making sure that the tap root faces down. Should be about an inch under the soil, I believe...

You will definately need a lot more patience if your starting to grow,, going to be some real probs along the way,,, dont look for probs where there is none.. these plants wont die that quickly,,, very resilient plants....:peace:......
