questions about indoor lighting cycles

Hello all-I've used 12/12 light cycles before, but have heard starting out at 18/6 allows for a larger yield.....I cannot find a deffinate answer in any books. If a veteran could get back to me and let me know what works best for them I'd really appriciate it!!!

It's recommended to veg your plants from 18 / 6 to 24 / 0 (some do 20 / 4, some do 16 / 8, everybody has their own way).
People argue over the best method.

Some people start the plants under 12 / 12, which is doable by far but perhaps not the way to get largest plants but rather an easier growth experience.

18 / 6 is the way nature does it.
It's standard summer time sun hours, shifting to 12 / 12 in the autumn.

I would recommend doing it 18 / 6 (then switching to 12 / 12 during flowering) unless you know your setup and your plants 200 %.
