Rabbit protection

Every year my girls are molested by rabbits. Tried many things over the years. This year I've made a chicken wire cage buried around the girls. About a foot and a half deep by two foot high. The girls have now grown over the top and are threatening to burst through the sides. Can anyone help? Do I take the cage away or let them find their own way? Old dog learning new tricks

Funny thing you should say "dog". Have you ever thought of hunting with a couple of beagles? A Mossberg pump-action 20 ga. won't break the bank and those little critters sure are tasty.
