im stoned, watching trailer park boys and i had a thought...
would an undercover trying to bust you for selling weight - like pounds and pounds - actually smoke weed with you in an attempt to gain your trust, or would that be "against the rules" ie. would that get the case thrown out...

I know officers are not allowed to consume drugs, however an informant can. Im talking canadian law here. During the big hells angels crackdown they had an informant doing meth with them to seem more natural, but the cops who were undercover all stayed away.

If you were a big time player that the feds were desperate to get, they will pardon a undercover agent from petty crimes, such as using drugs, petit larceny, and many other misdemeanor/violations. But for that to happen it's usually to infiltrate a organized crime syndicate, eg. mafia, street gangs, and drug rings.
