rec me an extraction setup

have some dry flower to run but am more interested in fresh frozen extraction going forward

i have a vac oven, vac pump and rosin press available already, i guess i need either a closed loop solvent column or go ice water hash and press it. ups and downs of each route?

would like to diy as much as possible but not getting into fabrication so if going solvent a good column is probably fundamental

tell me like im five - i have a good tech background but am out of the loop on all the heady jargon for the different products these days

To yield a traditional "Live Resin" extract rife with terpenes, you will need to use a low boiling point nonpolar solvent like butane/propane.

You can do it with a simple column but consider picking up a closed loop system for safety and to enable yourself to first distill out the Mystery oil from the solvent before extracting.

I prefer Live Resin to Rosin, because it has less plant waxes, et al and has a fresher taste. In fact the one word used most often by panel members to describe the taste of Live Resin was "fresh".

Can anyone recommend a good closed loop BHO setup? Possibly even with a Recovery pump?

Easy to build your own and quite a range in design and prices to purchase. How much volume will you be running and what is your budget?

I'd like to run 2-4oz at a time. Budget $1-2K

hey what up, looking for a closed loop system with vacuum! small grower trying to make shatter or ice or dabs with trim. quality over quantity budget varies what expecting to pay 600 to 800. any suggestions would be appreciated

as an example, would the basic small closed-loop systems with the dewaxers accomplish all of that? would you come out of that right into a vacuum oven for final purge?

Unfortunately, because I build my own, I have limited experience testing others equipment, but lots of experience building and certifying equipment, which brings us to the question of whether this device has to operate in a certified facility?? If so you will want an ASME certified system, because it is expensive to certify after the fact.

Also consider that if you have ready access to dry ice for subzero extraction, you can recover passively and save the capital cost of a recovery pump, though you will still need a vacuum pump.

If you are going to extract indoors, you will also need an engineered NEMA 7, C1D1 facility.
