Root rot, nute deficiency?

Hi all,

Second grow here; Basically I am unsure what these markings on the leaves mean. They have only started to appear in the last few days. I have spent a bit of time looking at the plant problem guides and to me it either appears to be a nutrient deficiency or root rot. I am leaning away from a nutrient defciency mostly because it seems to be affecting various leaves (not say from the bottom up, or the young) and I can't see any other signs. But more than happy to be wrong!

I suggest root rot because I overnuted the hydro setup briefly about a week ago and noticed I burnt the roots. I have been using Hydro Peroxie to make sure there is no bad bacteria from that and I flushed the system. I noticed also that majority of the 'browning' of the roots was occuring on the part of the roots above the water line, everything in the water seemed white and good, but the bit exposed to air was 'browning'. So I reinstalled the feed to pump water over the plug and roots; thus allowing the hydro peroxie to be pumped up as part of that and thus wash down over those parts of exposed roots. I think that helped, I noticed improvements in the roots and the roots since then have been growing lots of nice tangle free white. However I am unsure if I have fully resolved the issue or if it has returned.

The root burn and browning happened about a week before I started to notice these markings on the leaves. The plant has been growing steadily at the same time and isn't showing many other signs I could see.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated - I am also picking up a hydroguard (if i can find a good UK/EU alternative) as I think i'd prefer to use that over the hydro peroxie, from what I have found out by browsing today they are 2 different approaches and I didn't realise that at first.

What I have;
  • 0.8x0.8x1.5m tent
  • Full spectrum 600W LED panel
  • Large like 80L black lided tub (usually with about 50-60L of water inside)
  • large air pump with 2 large air stones
  • Water pump
  • Air heater on a temp controlled switch
  • Extractor fan and carbon filter (not that I have gotten to a point where i needed it).
  • Temp and humidity meter
  • Chems: Nutes 3 part, CalMag, Root silver bullet protector. PH up, down and buffer
  • pH: 5.5 - 6.2 (currently 5.85) is my usual range I aim for, litmus paper and pH meter
  • Fan setup to blow gently on the plant.

You can run the hydro peroxie all day and it doesnt get rid of whats giving you root rot, if thats what it is. It looks like you got a bit of it but the hydro peroxie makes it look better than it is so it could be worse. What temps are you running in your res and are you using great white or hydroguard as a preventative? Looks like root problems based on the leaves, atleast in my experience and all i run in is DWC
