I got a press a couple years ago to press dry sift and always wound up giving most of it away. I had plans to make carts but at the time most people were using liquidizer and after a little research I wasn't comfortable smoking the stuff.
Fast forward to a few weeks ago and I'm staring at a couple jars of sift and more trim and larf to process I decided to see if I could find any more options with my rosin cart idea. I decided I would try decarbing+terps and see what happened.
The first time I filled up two .5g ccell carts and they smoked well to the end. I haven't tried refilling but will at some point. I know this won't be the easiest on the carts because I'm using my lowest quality sift while I'm getting things dialed in.
Second time I filled up a 1g ccell and .8 PCKT carts. The ccell smoked well until about 15-20% left and stopped hitting well. I'm new to vape pens so I had the battery on high so I'm wondering if that didn't play into it. The PCKT cart smokes well with the ccell battery but with the PCKT vertical battery I just couldn't get it to really hit. I'm smoking it on the lower wattage level and it hits great but I prefer the mouthpiece on the ccell. Still have about 30% left and will report back if it clogs or reaches 10% with no problems.
The current carts "round 3" I used 4.5 drops of terps to 1.5 g rosin in ccell at low/medium wattage and so far it's the best. hits like a dab, tastes like a dab
Just thought I would share my personal experience making homemade rosin+terps carts. I went with MassTerps for my terps and if there's any interest in my process I would be happy to share. I am not very active so I'm not sure how often this gets posted lol
