Schumer: Senate Will Move Forward with Marijuana Legalization with or without Biden

The only thing "permission to grow a plant" will accomplish is to embolden the idea that people need permission to grow a plant. It is a perversion of freedom to be "allowed" to do this. People who have been fucked over for weed deserve some kind of reparations from the criminal prohibitionists.

Fuck, prohibition, fuck permission and fuck Joe Biden and the dog faced pony he rode in on.

Focusing on me doesn't address the issue though. Government involvement in weed, isn't what frees the weed.

If you've never had to "get permission" to consume or grow weed, why would you be excited about a possible law granting a limited privilege from your masters ?

Also, you are silent on reparations. Shouldn't Chuck Schumer pay back the people he victimized when he was a bigtime drug warrior ?
Just like Kamala Harris should admit to letting an innocent man die on Death Row when she had evidence to exonerate him?

What we must all remember is the fact even if the cronies finally decided to end prohibition today it would take years before one could legally sell cannabis. Then there would be license and tax to pay. The only people who actually got weed are growers. We shouldn't have to wait for a green flag to be free of being a criminal for planting a seed. They would also have to admit they were wrong to make it illegal in the first place which will be pretty hard for them to do. Biden is going for War to just put it all off and say that we must defend Democracy in a foreign country.

Everybody involved in making pot illegal is long dead, even the ones in the Nixon and Reagan eras. Joe will sign a cannabis legalization bill if they put it on his desk, he might whine and demand some changes, but that would just get him some votes among independents. Legalization might be a good issue for 2022 though and would split the republican good old boys of from the born yesterday pseudo Christians, republicans are 50/50 on legalization.

Joe is going to cold war 2 over Russian attacks and Putin being an asshole and he is right to do it, he will have lot's of help, Vlad made many enemies among America's allies too. In a world with out justice, retribution is the only way to deal with assholes.

Schumer asks for input as Democrats finalize cannabis bill
Senate Majority Leader Charles Schumer (D-N.Y.), Finance Committee Chairman Ron Wyden (D-Ore.) and Sen. Cory Booker (D-N.J.) sent a letter to their colleagues to invite them "into the drafting process as we work to finalize this legislation."

"In order to appropriately address such a nuanced issue, we respectfully request the input, advice and guidance of Chairs and Ranking Members of relevant committees as well as senators who have dealt with the challenges and realities of legalization in their own states," they wrote.

"We would deeply appreciate your willingness to share your expertise on the intersections between your committees’ jurisdictions, your states’ experiences, and comprehensive cannabis reform and invite you to join the process of perfecting this legislation. We would welcome the opportunity to discuss this issue with you in the weeks ahead," the three senators added.

The letter comes after Schumer indicated during a press conference last week that he was aiming to introduce the legislation as soon as April that would lift the federal prohibition on cannabis and allow state-compliant cannabis businesses to have access to financial services such as bank accounts and loans.

“As majority leader, I can set priorities. This is a priority for me,” Schumer said during the press conference.
The three Senate Democrats have been working on a bill for months, including introducing a draft last year. There's broad support legalizing marijuana. A 2021 Pew Research poll found 60 percent of Americans support legalizing it for both medical and recreational use and an additional 31 percent support legalizing it only for medical purposes. But Democrats face an uphill battle in the Senate, where they need GOP support.

"As more and more states move to legalize cannabis for both adult and medical use, the federal government has an important role to play. Hundreds of millions of Americans live in states that have legalized cannabis in some form while it remains illegal at the federal level. This discrepancy leads to confusion and uncertainty and raises significant questions around criminal justice reform, economic development and small business growth, and public health and safety, all of which we believe require some type of federal answer," the three senators wrote in the letter on Thursday.
