Seed Attached

I've started on my second grow and it is now ending on week one, my question is how long should it take for a plant to shed it's seed?

Attached are pics of my two plants, as you can see one still has the seed attached. I planted them at the same time used the same amount of water light etc.. Is this a wierd occurence or is this a normal occurence?

Thanks,

happens more than youd think with the seed. you can damage it if you try to remove it. as the guy above me said....just let nature take its course. it will come off on its own.

same here it happened to me but now the plant is bushy as shit just waitin to see if its a lady :leaf: good luck bro

Thanks for all the advice, i assumed that it was normal. But i don't have much experience with plants so i figured i would ask.
Now hopefully they will be both females (fingers crossed)

OK so the plant has still decided to continue growing without shedding it's seed. Does anyone know typically how long this should take?
it's been three weeks and it seems a little strange that it would take this long for the seed to fall off.

It honestly does not even look like it's trying. I have been monitoring the area where the tail sprouted and the crack in the seed has not become larger or even have the look of it ever coming off.
Thoughts or Suggestions.

Peel the seed off gently it should be fine after recovering. I know everyone including me said leave it on there but if its been three weeks and still not coming just gently peel it off.

Take two thin objects, like two large needles or pins, or something to that effect, and GENTLY spread the two halves of the seed apart. After taking the hard seed cover off, there may still be another membrane holding the leaves together. Gently peel that off as well and lets get her growin'. Had this happen to me more than once, just be gentle.

very carefully take that seed shell off,,,, sometimes it can kill your seedling if it cant break free,,,, rare but this has happened to me one time..bongsmilie

yep got it off and it looks alive, i accidentally pulled off half of one of the cotyledons. Hopefully it will survive. It looks fairly healthy see pic

Hell ya I've never seen a seed that strong that one didn't want to come off at all. Glad things are looking up for ya. I'll be subscribed to see this little laidies do their thing.

UPDATE:

Well he/she is growing, but at a pathetic pace, it looks like it's been dwarfed. Definitely a weird sight,
and on the other side we have the even more pathetic over watered and slightly heat burnt one.
Let's just say this grow has not started off very well. Hopefully things will turn around
