Self watering pots at Menards

I came across some great self watering pots at Menards, using what looks like that wick system technology. I am wondering if these will work? I am paranoid about overwatering etc. so I am sure they will do the trick?

The pots say can hold 2 weeks on average. There is a bottom resivour and a piece of threaded material that goes down on two sides to bring water to the plant.....

Anyone use these with success? I do not see why they wouldnt work. A plant is a plant is a plant more or less right?

I grew my first plant in a PlantSpa which had a reservoir in the bottom and said that after the roots reached the bottom I needed only to water through the reservoir. It worked out okay for a while but the roots never reached the bottom so I had to keep watering through the top of the soil and the plant eventually became root bound and had to be transplanted. I'm not saying don't go for it, you can if you want, I'm just saying that I didn't have much success with them.

HAHA Menards, i used to work at one in Minnesota when i was younger, me and a couple dudes that worked there built a smoking room in the ceiling tile section, we had a cave and got in there we had 2 bean bags and some candles, we used to sit in there and get baked, that was like 10 years ago....wow that was awesomeman.

sounds like your gonna wind up with fungus and root issues
you dont want old shitty water, especially not for 2 weeks.

You are suppose to drain water from the bottom and discard after watering/feeding.
Thats a good way to get root rot and other problems.

I wouldn't waste my money on em personally.
