Serious AK-47 seeds 30 days into veg -pics and ?'s

Hello Y'all! I received some Serious AK-47 seeds through Attitude a little over a month ago and have vegged 5 of them now for thirty days. I was wondering when the plant will be mature enough to take clones? I plan to take 3 or 4 cuttings from each plant. Then I plan to put the plants under 12/12 to sex them and then bud the females and maybe keep a male for pollen. I will keep the clones in veg for Mom's. I attached a few pics of them right before I watered today. Let me know what you think of them!

i think youre good to go with 2 clones each on those plants...

i take cuttings when the plants are about 4-5 weeks old...turn some into moms, toss em', and keep cloning...repeat cycle...

healthy looking plants btw...hope to see some girlies! :)

I hope to see some ladies as well! i was thinking about letting them veg for another week or two but may start taking some cuttings soon. I topped them a few days ago and they havn't missed a beat. i was'nt sure how they would respond but seem to be bouncing back quite well. thanks for the quick response Johnboy!

any time i can help...you can do a couple now, or wait a coupla weeks and take a couple then...its your plant! :)

So here they are now two weeks into bloom! I had five total, two were male and three are females. I'm feeding them GH nutes under 600 watts of High Pressure Sodium(air-cooled reflector). I have done some stem mutilation and tied some branches down and chopped the lower growth toward the bottom third of the plants. Let me know what you think of their progress! Thanks! Freda Felcher

I just bought the light a few weeks ago and was running it without the fan cooling it or the protective glass in place for the first week. I got the fan and the ducting hooked up and am astonished at the difference it has made in temps! The top of the hood is barely warm when it used to be hot and the light has been moved significantly closer to my lady's! The temps in my room now stay below 80 at all times. Does anyone know what the best ducting to use is? I purchased some at the local hardware store and it was not the easiest to manipulate to the form i wanted it. It just seemed like there is a better product that is easier to work with out there. Anyone have suggestions?

Just took a few more pics. This is my first real run at it, I tried before with crappy lights and bag seeds with some success. But now I have a good light, fans, nutes, great genetics(serious AK-47) and more to add on as i go. I hope to keep posting pics of my progress, so let me know what ya think!

Yeah, easily could've taken a few cuttings per plant.

Edit: Why not veg under the HPS once you have a nice established plant. I think you would have a larger plant after 30 days to flip into flower.

Looking good man. I too am using Serious genetics. White Russian and Bubble Gum. Anywyas I always wonder why I read all the time people take clones and use the clones as mothers. I personally root clones and sex them. I keep my seeded plants for mothers. Anyone else do this? I just like that idea better... It might take longer to produce, but I like to have the seeded plant as a mother (og genetics). Anybody have ideas as why lots of peeps flower their seeded plants and use clones for mothers?

I wonder the same thing. Is there a benefit to using a clone as a mother? I am currently using a seeded mother for my white widow and strawberry cough.

Looks awesome man! AK-47 has been one of my favorites since I tasted it about a year ago. It will definitely be included when I order my next batch of seeds. I can't wait to see your plants covered in swollen buds!

I took cuttings before they went into 12/12. Here are some pics of them now. Two were taken from each of my three females. They are now potted and a week or so into veg. They need some water, so now I'll go water them!

Well, it's been three weeks in bloom now! They look well except for some yellow fan leaves I discovered on the lower part of the plants. I just logged in and havn't started looking in the FAQ for info on what it may be. Any suggestions? Here are some pics of my lady's and the last one is of one of the yellowing leaves. thanks for the help! Freda Felcher

I do it because it speeds up the process when you would be waiting for your clones taken from the plants to mature and then sex them. I'm three weeks into bloom when i would still be waiting to veg the clones otherwise. Genetics are genetics and your going to have the same plant as a clone as you did with the original from seed plant. Hows that White Russian and Bubblegum doin by the way? I would love to see some pics!

Yeah it would be better to flower a plant thats got some veg on it if you plan to harvest. My plans are to wait till seedlings are about 6-7 weeks old then root atleast 1 clone from each pant. Get roots then flip to 12/12. In the meantime start clones off most vigerous plants. Start this batch a few days after you flip origionals to 12/12. This way I can pitch the 1st set of clones after they show sex. Then I can chop males and have have plenty clones rdy 2 veg before flower with a crunched time. My clones will be grown sog hydro (top feed /w multiple trays). Here is few pics and plants. They are scattered 4 of each strain. White Russian and Bubble Gum almost a month old.*It's only letting me upload this 1 pic IDK*
