setup question

currently i have a 4x4 tent with a 400 watt hps light. i am upgrading to a 1000 watt hps this week, is 1000 watt a little over kill in a 4x4? i have been looking into a 7x7 upgrade but was wondering if its necessary? other then maybe more plants what else are benefits of the bigger tent? and how many would you suggest in a 4x4 or 7x7 if i upgrade. thanks in advance for the advice. happy growing.
 
IT's a great light for covering 16 sqf.

It's also a terrific heat generator and I think you may have trouble with temps in that space with that much light.
 
Id get it and rig up a cooling method. You can put as many plans under that 1000w as you want, but id say like 6 in that little tent. but they say per 1000w= 1 unit of crop
 
i will deff be getting the air cooled.. and i am in ny and am planing this for a winter grow.. i figure with cold air from outside it would help alot with heat.. i will pull in air via fan and ducting from outside while lights are on and have that fan shut off when the lights do so its not insane cold in there. should work right? thanks for the replys!
