lol i could really care less whos envious or not. i was just explaining how easy it is to spend 3,000 dollars on a veg room and a flowering room. I think of it this way. you can spend 100 dollars and grow one plant and get probly 100-200 dollars worth of bud off it. or you can invest and do it right and get up to 1500 dollars per plant if not more. only makes sense right? if you have the money do it right. i have the money so i did it right.

HAHAHAAHHAHA 3 27 watt cfls MAYBE will grow ONE plant MEDIOCRE. you need a 100 watts per plant. 60 bucks aint ganna get u shit. i just dropped 3 g's on my 12 plant setup
first of all it is not nice to laugh, no matter how halarious cfl grows are. second of all there is a huge difference between commercial and personal growing mentalities. there is a huge diy section which im sure alot of you top of the line hydro system could have been replicated at a fraction of the cost, out the door. and who says the hydro system you are using is the "best". there are numerous hydro setups nft, ebb and flow, dwc, aero. on the flip side i have the best lights and soild fans and blah blah blah, the difference is i dont keep track of how much i spend because they are my babies and they are worth and it is a labor of love my friend. smoke one peace and happy growing

billybob, i know i might get criticized for being an a-hole.. but don't be a tool, nobody cares how much disposable income you have. just give advice and that's about all we want.

okay im sorry for laughing, my bad. you think you could set up an Ebb & Gro system DIY? Actually HIGHTIMES says it is one of the best, won a 2007 Stash Award. When i was putting it together i realized it would take me MONTHS to find the parts to make it happen. and at that, if i built it myself god knows how many things could go wrong with it. plus the controller box? how the hell was i ganna build a controller box? that thing has more technical shit in it than this computer. I spent 500 on my hydro system and it was worth every fraction of a penny in my eyes. i built my whole veg box hydroponics and all that and it works great but it takes constant tweaking. for my flowering room i didnt want to spare any expense FOR MY BABIES. And actually this is a personal grow. i am just going to sell back enough to make my money back, which will be 2 plants. i will have another 10 to smoke.

i believe the ebb and grow is a 55 gallon drum res with buckets. the controller is a float switch like that used in toilets and a timer. im not knocking your purchase, i just sounds like it is a personal prefrence for you to buy a ready made kit for your partially personal grow.

You can build a lot of your stuff if you want which will drop costs. But some things you can't cheap out on. I haven't seen a vented hood, bulb and ballast for anything under 300$.

If you add Co2 you are a adding a grand. You need Co2 meter, unit to coordinate vents (so Co2 on only during day and when exhaust is off), etc.

Getting good exhaust fans (inline vs squirrel cage) will also cost more, but I've ran 2 Ellicent 306cfm (1 vent, 1 room exhaust) for 3 years and never had a problem. They're so quiet they can be barely heard at all outside the room.

I paid to get my room rewired so it has it's own breaker, nice heavy amperage wire, etc. I built everything else but that I wasn't going to touch.

it would take me at least a month to get all those parts together. then another week to build it. time+labor+supplies=more than i spent on the system. rather buy a system that is proven and i know works good without any pitfalls.

first of all.... if i were you, i'd change my location

second, 60 bucks aint gon get you shit but one of the three; mediocre to ample lighting using cfl (and thas pushing it) or you could get nutes/soil/pots and a few other necessities...OR ordering/buying seeds

and thas even pushing it

either way, you cant have one w/o the other

i suggest you save yer money. stack for a little bit, then start venturing....

what they say? if you go cheap...yo will grow cheap...

You can pick up 65w CFL listed as flood lights at Home Depot for $10each I've been using them for years on my saltwater reef tanks and now have been using them for my clones and my mother plants(although I'mn switching out to a 250w MH for the clones/mothers=) I have 2x1000w in my flowering room..

I started my current 11plants under a 430w HPS and well it works but half my plants are half the heigth of the other due to the low intensity the 1000w work much better=)..this is what Ive been noticing... so with your budget go buy like 3or 4 or those 65w cfls.. I have a 2ft tall mother plants under 2x65w cfls
