Lots of grows you can check out on this site. Are they worth it? That's for you to decide.

Have you thought about induction lights and some supplemental red+far red LED's?

There's also lots of stuff on eBay for really cheap. Stuff with a reflector/hood seems a bit more expensive.

I think two-three Kessil H150 Magenta's or Red's, plus two-three of those 40W induction bulbs would make your plants happy in that space and you shouldn't have to worry much about heat in your grow room.

What are you using now and why do you want to change? That might help with deciding whether it's worth it or not.

With that size grow box, Leds are just about perfect. I have grown with just T5 and currently use T5 PAR for side lighting...however with your space you may have trouble fitting a T5 fixture...and I'm finding that LED buds are possibly (about 1 -2 weeks 'til harvest) even better than good T5 - not just hard but rock hard buds and one of the main colas has a small hash tip (looks like a little bit of snow on top).

Anyway, with that size box you could use one Kessil H350 Magenta or you could do a Kessil H150 magenta and an H150 red which you could add during flower. I think that I would probably go with the H350. I could recommend a couple of LED panels but 8 inches deep is pretty restrictive...but the Kessil would work beautifully I think. I would probably keep one or two /CFLs for side lighting...but then I love side lighting and have had good luck mixing spectrums. Take a look at growershouse.com as they have excellent prices.

These lights produce little heat - I can easily grab and hold on to the Kessil H350 - last well (at least they seem to be well engineered which many LED lights are not and have a good warranty) and cost little to operate.
