Size of PC Case

Hi all,

joined the forums a bit ago, but havent posted at all, and just been reading and what not

So anyway,

Im a huge computer guy, and i have multiple old pcs laying around my house collecting dust, and i thought i would put them to some good use via stealth grow

my question is, does the size of the case matter that much?
I mean i know that if the case is bigger, more room, easier to work in and what not

but how much does a smaller case affect the size of the plant and how much can be grown?
Because i have some old pcs that have a fairly decent size tower, and some newer pcs that are a little newer, and the size has of course been decreased

So yeah, can someone exactly tell me maybe what an ideal size for a case is?

Thanks

if you have any older TALL full towers those would do a nice pc grow youd have lots of room

by tall i mean the older towers that are like 2+feet lol.

otherwise, you want a tower thts at least around 15 inches tall at least, you need to think about how tall your pots will be and how much the light will take up....you wanna leave yourself a decent grow height in between to make it somewhat worth it

fimm and tie down will get you a squat plant(s) with lots of bud sites to reach to the lights.

Stick two cases on top of each other, weld them or something.
If you could light proof it, itwould be epic

Well I have seen some really small cases on this forum with 2 or 3 lights, and larger ones with 5 lights max (more lights requires more air flow ect.) But the plants love it, the buds are much more dense. You want to think about the size of your pots and lights will take away from your case size.

Ok thanks, that helped a lot, i think i have one of those in the basement somewhere lol
Thanks

tiggaweed, I would recommend having a body of soil that stretches from back to front in your case, then planting your seed under that light trap? (black box) Then you can LST the shit out of your plant for a greater yield, you might want to add another light as well.

I like your idea about the bigger flatter pot but the cfl is a 150 watt equivalency that should be plenty if not a little to much lol

Thanks I had a self watering system with a water pump on a timer and I also had a small web cam in it so I never really had to mess with it just check the computer that was it

you might wanna add more lights in there.. I would say atleast 80-100 actual watts for one plant.

Love that idea, with my new case I'm going to grow 1 seed. (12/12 from seed) then, depending on how long that took from germ to harvest, plant another when it's finished then another after that seed was planted in half the time it took from germ to harvest and repeat till I used up the seeds, if you can understand that? :L
Anyways point is, after those 5 seeds I will play around with my case, adding/removing/replacing things, a webcam will definitely be something I' interested in, I was also already interested in a fully automated watering system but was not sure it was worth the cost, if I have spare funds I will definitely invest in that. Might replace black/white polly with diamond mylar, still a lot of thinking to do on that. I'll be using soil on these initial 5 seeds, but have a ready-built hydro system with all components ready-to-use, though I don't know much about nutrients for hydro. Can't wait, are you still using your system? What's in it currently?

I use this as a starter box I usually only have one plant in it tho sometimes rarely 2 but nothing in it currently. i Will post a pic later today of my self watering system they are quite simple and It would not be hard to convert to a eb and flow hydroponic system when I use it I already had been puting organic plant food in my self watering reservoir and could tell a big difference in growth when I used this pc grow. the web cam is actually a bit difficult to find the right one because most webcams already have a original zoom and it can make it difficult to line it up with the perfect view but when u get it lined up and right u can take a pic everyday and kinda make a time warp which can be really cool
