Slugs ate my main stem! have tried to repot- should i trim drooping, brown leaves?

Im growing a young outdoor plant, was doing fine until a slugs (or i think it was slugs) ate through the main stem. I've repotted the top of the plant that was cut off, but I don't kno whether it will make it, however the upper leaves look ok. The lower ones are drooped and yellow/brown, have already trimmed a few- should i trim the other ones? any input much appreciated thanks.

Man, you got to check out Slug Shields. It's not worth losing plants over. Good luck.

Thanks, i think its ok now though, it recovered and is now doing well, i think the slugs go more for the young plants so i think it should be alright.

Did you see the slug actually do it?
If not what kind of dirt is that?
