Which is one do you prefer and why? Trying to compare about to grab some new pots want some opinions of others!

I prefer air pots.
They're sturdier, easier to move around, and they don't have to be elevated..........they also last forever.
I suggest you cover them with pantyhose to prevent fungus gnats from getting in the holes to lay eggs.

Air pots are a buy once item you couldn't wear them out in two lifetimes of growing.
They just unroll off the plants their very convenient to work with.
They don't need a rack to stand on free draining is built into the pot.
Imo copies are fine but some aren't as effective due to the hole size and shape, it sounds trivial but it does make a big difference, i know this because i have some of them, i posted something recently on the subject I'll try to find it.

Air-Pots. For all the above reasons as well. Also this may seem trivial but they are also WAY easier to fill up vs cloth pots. Cloth pots are difficult to ensure you have a homogeneous fill of your medium.
Air-Pots are easy to remove so if you want to up pot it’s incredibly easy as well. I think root development is also better with Air-Pots.

See these responses? Once you try Air pots, you become a huge fan and start collecting different sizes. Air pots are just good design, once you are ready to transplant your first pot, and you unscrew the little thingy and unroll the plant, you'll wonder why anyone uses anything else!

Its hard to tell the difference in knock offs i see so many different brand names. Is the legit brand name just "air pot"? Also comparing rain science to air pots which is better? Thanks guys appreciate your input!!

Yeah, it is hard to tell. If you're looking on Amazon, I think the "superroots" air pots are the original brand. They're much more expensive than the knockoffs. I have like three different knockoff brands, and all of them work great. The only difference really is the material they are made of-the original seems indestructible and will 100% last a lifetime. The knockoffs are made of decent plastic, and I also expect them to last a lifetime, but there is a noticeable difference in quality that will make zero difference in your garden. Good luck!

I've been wanting to try these. Recently ordered the cheap versions from aliexpress: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/2255799994695451.html. Only took about eight days to arrive (to the US) and shipping was about $2.50. In terms of quality, the plastic is thinner than the name brand "airpots", but not so much that I think it will matter. They'll definitely last 3/4 runs.

The main difference between original air pots and the knockoffs is that the first couple of rows in the original do not have holes in them to allow watering without it coming out the sides.

I saw that. I was already trying to think of an idea to plug the top 2 rows before i found the actual air pot brand. Think ill just grab the air pot brand only $15 more not to bad

Keep in mind the sizes run a little odd when you are ordering. 0.7g, 1.2g, 2.2g, 3.6g, 5.6g.

Gday. DWC grower here so this is more just out of curiosity.
But whats the deal with these? I imagine having the holes all over it increses air to the roots, and would encourage air pruning, minimizing spiraling roots? But why the inward facing bumps? Why not just a regular pot with holes drilled all over it?

Thanks! I use 3 gallon fabric now so i guess ill go with the 3.6gal. Wonder why they do the weird sizes.

I also usually run 3g. I bought the yellow 2.2g Air-Pot. They say they are the equivalent of a 3 gallon pot. Between the massive root system they created and the slightly smaller size I wish I had the 3.6g ones.
From my last run with the 2.2g Air-Pot.
