Soapy water?

I have a whitefly infestation and read that spraying soapy water will kill the bugs

.. but im just a little bit worried because i heard that it can also affect the plants ..

does anyone know in what way it will affect my plants and if i should use it to get rid of my whiteflys?

honestly i have no clue, i have heard of the soap thing...
if i were to try it id try and find the most organic soap i could haha
