sog for dummies????!?!

SOG?!?! can anyone give a little help on letting me know the advantages and the disadvantages on such a set up... cuz im growing in a 4x4 and i wanna max out the potential of my garden ...

if anyone could suggest me to a certain thread or video that would really be appreciated
