SOG Jack Herer LED and HPS Grow :) :)

Eraserhead has it right respect!!!! seven leaf you really shouldn't be giving advice if you don't know what you are talking about
sorry just saying it as I know it ;) If they were 1 watt diodes then maybe the distance would be ok
with 3 watt diodes seedligs wont preform well with the light closer than 30" and will suffer as a result
I've been growing 30 years, but I did not see anywhere that those were 3 watt diodes, my bad. Had I seen that I would not have made the statement, however the principal of led was to remove heat from the equation, look at the height of sog setups, far less that 30" inches with no ill affects at all how can you explain how all those seedlings survive? Think before you speak.
How much heat is generated? What are the lense angles ? The actual NM of the lights being used and photo intensity and wattage. those will ultimately determine height.

@seven leaf hello mate its not so much that the seedling lives or dies it stunts growth and slows the plant down if the light is to intense (unlike with hps which will frazzle a seedling (as you obviously are aware off ) if to close
most led systems will operate in between the 60-90 degree angle its going to depend on the lens as you point out maybe this one is a 120 I dont know and I have never used a 120 before so I couldn't tell you the appropriate height for a seedling would be in that scenario
I don't do theory I just like to get my hands on kit and grow and test it out
and the correct height for a 3watt led panel growing seedlings is around 80-100 cm for the first ten days or so and that is my experience when using them
and yes I just thought before I said that :)
I believe the girls are doing a great job and obviously have some stuff to learn and the advice you gave was quite frankly incorrect and I called it as such... its not personal ....l maybe I should learn to shut my mouth ..... cant help myself motor mouth of the year me...
sorry for interupting your thread girls if you wish to discuss this further Seven Leaf then lets do it by pm buddy... cheers!

:?:I just purchased some Jack Herer seeds from BC Bud Depot "6". Every thing I have read about them they grow tall and let them grow tall. Is Jack Herer a strain that should not be topped or fim. I'm going to be using flood and drain. I have about 4 and a half feet to play with "vertical" Thank for any help
