Using a small light, say 400 watts.

SOG = sea of green

This is where many small plants are used and forced to flower at an earlier age, mainly with the hope of harvesting the top cola of a plant. The canopy of the plants is lush, creating the vision of a Sea of Green.

ScrOG = Screen of Green

This is where fewer plants are used, and screen (usually chicken wire with 2" holes) is placed above the plants at a fixed height. When the plants reach the screen, they are trained to grow where the cultivator desires. This will allow a thicker canopy, and no empty spaces on the screen so that more surface area of the plant is reached by the light, creating the possibility of secondary, tertiary etc. growth. The screen is effectively full with the plant's trained canopy, creating the vision of a Screen Of Green.

with veg time and flower tim envolved with scrog, i think sog would be the wiser for the given area. in addition you are not limited to a handful of strains. put it this way, most scrog in that area would be 1, 2 or maybe up to 4 plants. that 4 different strains, vegged, then flowerd, for atleast 90days start to finish. 4 harvests a year.

sog on the other hand, can have many different strains with many different harvest times. but if done with only a handful of strains that are reltively high yeilding, one can have a perpetual havest like that of albfuct that is maybe geard more towards yeild rather then variety. given the area of the flower room i would settle for two sets, both 60days strains and harvest every 30 days. this should compare in yeild with scrog yet give you the advantages of variety sooner. as far as what style will yeild more assuming you use the same strain. i think that lays in the fabrics of gentics. 300g/m2 sog or scrog should give you the same yeild under ideal conditions, right?

i would think scrog is a form of lst.... but easier, faster, and more simple.

instead of using a twine to pull down branches to encourage and train the plant to grow more evenly, you use a net.

I personally do both, with many others. Currently, I am running a mix of SOG, 12/12 from seed, and untrained. Just chopped a ScroG, and am thinking of supercropping for the next round. I basically like to have one big plant, a few medium sized, and as many SOG/12-seed as I can cram.

I like growing in as many different ways as possible. Know any new ways?

P.S.- As sk3tch3 said, I believe a SOG would be best for ya. All depends though, are you gunna have a mum for clones? In my opinion, SOG should be a clone project. ScroG is also less maitenance, but should also be clone only.... not cool having to rip out a male from the rest of the screen.

Need more info about your setup/ideas to really tell ya what's best.

3 rd week flowering!
Ok the plants are filling the screen the tops seem to have a few leaves. Should I get rid of the leaves at the top of the colas, or the leaves above the screen, or none?
