sog yields / 37grams per sq.ft

Whats the possibility of averaging a yield of 1 1/2 oz per plant with 12 plants in a 2x3 tray given a proper veg time? Lets assume its a decent yielding plant, in 6" pots and everything dialed in properly.

It would be 2 trays under a 1000w light and have approx. 83watts/sq.ft of light. An average yield of 37g/sq.ft.

I would be doing ebb & flow and have about 1 month in between to root clones and veg plants. Can use a 400w or T5's to veg with. Have plenty of Mothers also.

Is this an obtainable goal after things are dialed in or would I need a longer time to root and veg clones out to achieve 1 1/2 oz per plant?

Thanks in advance, Im used to growing trees so not familiar with sog expectations.

Well ok lets not call it sog than. Lets look at an average height I would need to achieve the desired yield above?

Or for you aero guys whats an average yield in a sog no veg? Maybe something like 2-3 plants per sq.ft.

I know this isnt a cut and dry question but I am just trying to get an idea of where to start with the goal of 2lb a light in 12 sqft utilizing ebb & flow tray. Thats why I worked out some math above as to not appear lazy and wanting spoon fed.

I know I need 5" minimum pots for stability and I know that I will need to veg to a certain height but I dont know where my expectations should be. Hopefully someone that has experience can give me an idea if this is can be done with a little fine tuning

Sounds like quite a packed room(12 per tray). Using such a small pot like a 5 or 6 ich is fine if you do rooted clones directly into flower(12/12) but if you have any veg time at all you will need bigger containers, if you do not they will bound up with roots and you will loose yeild.

IMO

Sea of green isn't as cut and dry as you may think. You'll really need to bred your own strain. It starts from seed cause some just don't take to 12/12 so the weak perish and the strong get bred. Then it's a long process of selective breeding for flower times and yield. many years ago I ran a SoG with a sensi seeds super skunk that flowered in 7 weeks and was producing 2.75lbs per 1k hps, it took popping 1000's of seeds to stabilize the super phenos. You don't just pick up random seeds and produce 2+lbs. It takes many grows of trial and error to get yields up to that rate. First picture was when I started 5 years ago, second is from a more refined grow, to several years to get it to really produce.006.jpgView attachment 2445375

My tray has a top so I was planning on cutting in the 5 or 6" hole and suspending pot in the tray. The tray is 8" deep so I will have 3-4" in between tray and pot. Flooding every 2-3 hours. I have ran dwc for a few years so its kind of similiar as far as root growth and res are concerned. Just not as deep and flooding instead of maintaing water level. Less need to oxygenate the water with a shit load of air pumps.

Nice setup! I am in the process of finding the perfect mother already. I have a shit ton of possible candidates from the same strain about a foot tall. My next step is to take clones and sex. Its a perfect sog plant but I dont know about the root to flower yet. It made it through last years drought with no help. Its also been around for a decade being bred with itself. I understand the logistics behind this just have no hands on with sog.

Do you just flood your tables? Or drip feed?

I guess I may of come off like it was a simple answer but I know it is gonna take alot of preparation and observation to get the most out of the system. I figured with as long as this method has been around there were some starting points and some basics behind plant number, light and room size.

I have enough rooted clones to start a table and will be adding tables as I go along perpetualy. I have another room that is at the cloning stage. I will be upscaling to 4 1000w lights before its all said and done. I have will have enough clones to fill 8 tables easily until a pick the mothers.

I think I can figure it out from here. Thanks for the pics and feed back ben!

If that's the plan to expand quickly while your building up clones just go straight for a 4x8 table with 2 1ks on in it. You can stack hundreds in 2x2 rockwell, or fewer with big mamas, hydroton, RW slabs, 1gal pots ect. It's a more expandable system rather than running multiple 2x3

Nice grow man!!!..... You piece of shit how can you take credit for that? I know for a fact that's not yours and you're probably a dumb stoner who hasn't grown a plant in his life. Fuck you

so dudes full of shit than lol.

I read Al B's harvest every 2 weeks and he puts 1000w over 2 4x4 trays. Is that a way to just over compensate with plant area in order to ensure all of the light is producing bud? 32 sqft for 1000w seems under lit but at the same time all the light is hitting plants even though some plants get underlit. Maybe that is more productive than using a smaller area and trying to maximize fewer plants and pushing them to yield more?

Any thoughts?

Fucts defiantly got his shit together. If I were to grow like him, I would raid every post he's made so I can grow the exact same way he does.

Yeah I love the way that dude grows, I would do it if I had the space

I believe thats the way I am gonna set up and just modify as needed. Its a simple method once everythings dialed in.
