So I was just wondering how I should start my seedlings out. I'm germinating seeds now. I have big bags of Happy Frog, Ocean Forest, perlite, and vermiculite. I plan on using the Fox Farm trio for nutes. So my question is what soil to use, what to add to it, what else would be good to buy to add to mix. This is my first grow and want to give my plants a good start. Theyre gonna pop soon so I need advice asap. Thanks

I germ right into happy frog. Soak overnight in peroxide and water. Getting ready for my next run starting up tomorrow!

Don’t overwater! Roots need to breath! Wait to up pot and use the ocean forest when the baby leaves yellow and die. No nutes! You can ride out the nutes in the soil for roughly 3 weeks. Add minimal nutes from then on. Like a 1/4 of whatever it says on the bottle. Less is more.

Sure. A lot of people use a pill bottle stuffed with 100 grit sandpaper and shake seeds until it develops a seam. Helps seedlings break free easier.
Yes I've heard of that too. Might try on the couple seasons next time. It sounds like it would definitely help them germinate faster.

I would try the soak and then place seeds in your medium or paper towel. I do my best to not get too rough with seeds as they are living entities. I put a fish tank heater set at 80 F in a tote with 6 inches of water, after the water is up to temp nest another tote inside [dry tote] and set my tray or paper towel setup inside, close the lid and they will pop in three days or less. Once the tap root is over 1/2" long you will poke a hole in a mild medium, add some myco and gently place seed in the hole squeeze in dirt from the sides and done. Misting with a sprayer will get you all good. You can always add more water, but you'll play hell removing it. Good Growing.

I’ve been using sunshine advance mix 4 with 1/2 tablespoon of roots uprising per gallon of soil with great results. Both the soil and amendment are more fine than other brands, nothing for the seed to get stuck under.

I never soak in paper towels, I only use a red plastic cup, n water.. 2 to 3 days later.. germinated. But do as you do, just sharing what I do..

Plant seed in medium at right temp/moisture. Nothing else needed. No paper towels, soaking, chanting to the eastern winds......More rocket science/bro shit is just that.
Personally, I never touch a seed and never abrade it in any way. You ever see a farmer soaking or 'sanding' his seeds?
