Some Lighting Questions.

The Following readings were taken with the Photone app. All readings were taking at 24 inches away from center of light.

PPFD- 105
DLI-6.25
LUX-4200
CCT(Kalvin)6250(but varied depending on location between 2200-12000)

These are the numbers from my old Globalstar Led, It is one of the styles with the switches for Veg and Bloom, But the Bloom switch stopped working and so did some of the LED bulbs.

My questions are:

Is it worth putting this light in the new tent along with my mars hydro to add some extra light?
Are these Values at all Decent?
Where do I want each of these values Ideally?
What to these values mean in Laymans terms(I understand Kalvin so no need to explain that one)?
During the Flowering stage, would there be any harm in setting this light on the bottom of the grow tent, on a couple of blocks so that I can hit the Plant with Light from both the top and the bottom?

I wouldn't use that light. For one, it's broken, second a PPFD of 105µmols at 24" tells me that it's generating very little light at normal hang heights.

What size tent are you using and which model Mars grow light do you have?

I was going to go 24x24x55 but i found a 31x32x63 that was actually cheaper so im going with that. Light is the MARS HYDRO 2023 New TS1000 150 Watts LED. I was not planning on using the secod light as a main source of light, more like a secondary source of light sitting on the bottom of the tent on a couple of blocks facing up toward the bottom of the canopy.

Understood about how you planning on using the old light. Again, I would not use that light. Yes, it will generate photons but it's a broken light.

Re the TS 1000 - that should do fine for your tent. It's good that you got the bigger tent, though the extra height is the winner. The PPFD map for the TS1000 is below. That light, like a lot of small lights, has a pretty significant drop off — you're good for 1' from center mass but it drops off when you move out from that. At 75%, you'll be getting >900µmols which is good because that's what you should be shooting for in terms of light on your canopy.

Dont use broken light got it! The rest of it, Im a bit confused on. If im reading the photo right, I can, if I run the light at 100% power, get 1300+µmols at 12 inches, Is there a reason that I would not want to run the light at 100% for the higher µmols? Other than using more electrictiy that is.

You don't want to hit a plant with 1300µmols unless you're running CO2. Ideally, you'll be getting 800-1000µmols on your grow. That's "the light saturation point" for cannabis and cannabis loves light.

BTW, you're on a Mac? I'm inferring that because you typed "µmols". That's easy on a Mac but I've never even tried to type that on Windows (I write Windows software running Windows on macOS).

Nah I am on a PC I just used Copy and past lmao.

I had some thoughts on a way to Add CO2 using my other Hobby, which is Home brewing Beer,wine and Mead. Its pretty simple actually, Just add a Carboy to the tent and let it Ferment in the tent. Brewing pumps Out a TON of CO2, Or I could just sit my Carboys up Outside the tent by the Air Intake, Since CO2 is heavier than air it will sink down and get blown into the tent.

Great that you've got the CO2 available but, as best I've been able to figure out, lacking a sealed environment you're going to be losing your CO2 very quickly.

Heh, one thing I meant to mention — check out videos on YouTube by Dr. Bruce Bugbee. He's "the man" re grow lighting and cannabis nutrition. The best starter videos are "Maximizing Yields…" and "Grow Lighting Myths". Another source is "DeBacco University". I wouldn't say DeBacco repackages what Bugbee says so I'll say that he summarizes what Bugbee says. Bugbee is a PhD in plant bio who's been doing research for NASA for decades so he explains the concepts behind what he talks about vs DeBacco who, unfortunately, reads the PowerPoint slides. The info he puts out is correct and easy to digest but…he…reads…the…slides.

I have watched a TON of DeBacco already. I just watched some other dude today that did an entire Grow with Miracle Grow Fertlizer and the take away from that one was Can be Done, but the plant with GH nutes was a Bigger plant with more Buds, but the Miracle Grow plant had Bigger buds but less of them. So, Something to note if im Broke as shit and cant buy anything else Miracle grow will work in a pinch. Which, I mean NPK is NPK for the most part. But Im getting GH even tho, dun dun dun they are OWNED by the same company that owns Miracle Grow.

Also True at 100CFM in and 100CFM out the CO2 likely wouldnt stay in the tent long.

Is the old globestar led this one?

If you are confident on a bit of DIY you could always pull the broken light apart and test the switches by swapping them to see if that's the problem.
There's probably 2 drivers in there. You could also connect all the leds to one driver to light them all up at half power or reuse the drivers to power some white strips for supplemental lighting.

Similar only mine does not have a dimmer and mine is black lol. I am NOT in any way mechanically Inclined enough to try that, if i take it apart it will never function at all ever again lol

Yeh, Debacco's really helpful because he just puts it out there for people to follow. I've got screenshot of all of the high points (yeh, I had to go there…) but I like Bugbee's approach since he gets…into the weeds.

The NPKs are not comparable.

Miracle Grow's Nitrogen is primarily Urea. Urea is not an ideal source of N for hydroponics.
Hydroponic nutes are primarily Nitrates with a small percentage of ammoniacal Nitrogen.

Well, I have not noticed any difference in Growth between differnt types of Nitrogen at least in My tomato plants, Miracle grow works great on them, but so does any NPK fert.
