Something going on with CC ordering seeds?

Sorry if this is the wrong place to post this, but I've tried on a few popular sites recently to order seeds (Midweek Song, Attitude, etc..) and they have posted everywhere that they accept credit cards, but when you finally get to the payment tab it says "we're sorry but we're unable to accept cards of any type at this time".

Is something up? :(

Because it's an overseas charge, you have to call your CC company up and let them know that you are indeed making a purchase. Otherwise, they block the transaction. You don't have to tell them what it's for either, just that you are the one making the purchase.
 
Nah sorry that's not it - I've ordered overseas before. These sites are not letting you even get to the point where you enter in your credit card number.
 
I think you guys might be in for a shocker here. Looks like some of the CC companies are imposing fines to sellers of cannabis seeds. I've already talked with Lewis (see below) when I tried to order through their site.

Not sure I am comfortable using a bank transfer (or how that would even work). Is there any other way to pay besides this and bitcoin? Is paypal possible?

I just went to the Attitude site & searched "credit card" and this is what I found:

"Because of the ongoing problem with credit card providers such as Mastercard or Visa, who refuse to work with cannabis seeds related businesses ( and constantly issue enormous fines) we would like to encourage our customers to use alternative payment methods . One of the easiest and most common options is a good old BANK TRANSFER whichin some countries is also known as a WIRE TRANSFER. It is basically a transfer of funds from your bank account directly to ours.

If you are a customer who has an online access to your bank account this option will be as simple, effortless and quick as using the debit/credit card. If you do not have an online access to your account you can still go to your bank and make a transfer there.

Just select PAY WITH BANK/WIRE TRANSFER at the checkout and you will receive an email with all the information you need in order to make a wire. When you place an order on our website you will be provided with an order number which needs to be included in the place of Payment reference / Wire transfer description so we can match the payment to the order placed. Once the funds are received your order will get processed as usual.

But it looks like if you use a bank transfer you receive a 15% discount.
The cash discount is 20%
 
Right but when your bank charges $40 per international wire transfer? I guess you'd offset that by placing a huge order but who wants to do that with something that can be confiscated by customs?

I've never done an international wire x-fer & didn't know the fee was that high.
I guess we're down to cash then (as much as I hate that option).
Regardless, always get the guaranteed shipping - at least if they get snagged you don't have to pony up more $$ to try again. :cool:
 
I order from choice/attitude all the time, they dont accept mastercard, atleast thats what it reads. I have used visa, sometimes have to call and clear it with my bank also. GL. I have a reship from choice at this very moment, and it was my fuck up not putting the street name on the order....dont smoke and order beans!
 
just went through the payment process at attitude with visa debit...no problems,
i would try choice seedbank too as another option, they are sister seedbanks and stock the same product.
possible just a temporary hiccup & try again later

We are having major issues in the industry with cc company's / banks accepting the funds from our U.S customers through them. It's becoming tiresome getting banks in timbucktoo to accept our business for exorbitant fees only for six months into the deal for them to give five days notice of ending the agreement. We at MWS are really getting p....d off at it and are looking at other ways of doing the deals for the souvenirs you order from us. As said in the thread earlier one safe way is Bitcoin. A bit strange to start with but we can see most purchases going this way until all governments get there heads out of there arses and start accepting the huge possible tax revenue to be made through our industry with a smile instead of looking at it as being illegal.

What we have decided to do at MWS is offer a promo to you, our customers, that if you send cash, send it recorded delivery so that you have a record of exactly where your money is and we will include in the package back to you extra seeds of the ones you order to the value of your postage costs (for instance if you order a pack of 5 and the postage is the same as the cost of a single seed we will send you 6 of your ordered seed and so on)

Please bare with all the Seedbank companies while we, like you in the US, go through these testing times

What about western union money orders? Or just cash through registered mail

Was just wondering about this the other day when attempting to checkout at MWS which has become my favorite go to seed bank. Still debating on setting bitcoin up. Looks as though we may have no other option other than cash eh? Just makes receiving beans take longer when we have to wait for you to receive cash first .... sigh. The beauty of MWS for me was the speed in which I received my souvenirs; no other bank has beat your delivery time to date. Nevertheless, I will do whatever needs to be done. Thanks for being so available and responsive to the community Lewis. It means a lot.
