Ok I've grown in soil before and I'm about to try a 5 gallon single plant bubbleponics but Im not sure if I need a water pump or even if I have everything I need but here what I do have
1 - 5 gallon black bucket
1- net pot exactly the same width of the bucket it snaps on the top
Hydroton plenty
Rockwool cubes
25 ft of black air hose
Tetra 80 gallon fish tank air pump 2 valves
2 eight inch air stones
4 small round air stones
A 5 inch disk air stone
Elbow and Y tube connectors
Suction cups to hol hose down
Complete line of foxfarm nutrients for hydro
Ph tester
About 50 cfl bulbs different wave lengths
4 double tube ballasts four ft in length
3 timers
Fans

Anything else I need and any suggestions on what to use or what I shouldn't use along with any tips or things not to do would be great I really want to do this right and have everything I need before I start thanks for all the support rep+ to all help

a 13/16th inch spade bit and a 1/2 grommet if your going to drill a hole in the bucket for a level indicator. ph up and down a ppm meter ph meter nutrient line..umm

Convenient enough the bucket I bought came with a water level indictor already on it thanks about the ph up and down totally slipped my mind and as for a ppm meter any suggestions I don't have to much cash on hand and will the foxfarms nutrients be alright? And I have a pool ph tester that goes from 0 to 8 so I should be good there or is that just not gonna do it thanks for the help I can definitely use all the help I can get

why are using fox Farm nutrients? Have you chceked out the others as well?
PPM meters and ph testers are the two most important hings to have in hydro, dont go cheap and dont go without.

u can get a ppm meter for as little as 30 bones. in my experience id prob say that ph tds and temp are 3 main things in hydro if there damn near perfect ur gonna pull ur hair out. good thing my head was shaved my 1st week in dwc..lol

Well I'm using fox farm only because I use them for my soil grows and have tons I'm going to pick up a ph and ppm meter Tommorow so I don't pull my hair out cause I have alot of hair thanks for all the instant support I will be updating frequently and it would be nice if u all follow my grow I'm growing some afghani hybrids is this a good strain to start with ?

Was also wondering if my status of stranger will change and when I don't like being a stranger I'm always on rollitup

I would run 2 air stones in that bucket, choose the one that makes the best bubbles. I found some of the round ones are crap some are good.

Drill a 1/4" hole and slide your air hose through there.

I would ditch the bucket in all honesty and go buy a team water jug 5GA, it is marked in L & GA regulating temps is crucial in DWC you do not want your temps to go over 70F 63-69 is where I like to keep mine. You add frozen water bottles to bring temps down.

Read my thread first like 6 pages I had 5GA buckets and could not keep temps in line. I am using the 5GA snap lid as well it does fit over the water cooler jug found at Lowes, Home Depot, Walmart etc.

The way to do is go buy attic insulation board I bought 1" they sell them pretty thick. Cut a square and buy a 3" net cup and 1" rockwool cube and put it in there. The roots hit the water fast and explode! Trust me. A 3" cup is fine from veg to bloom.

I notice a much better temp regulation using the insulated board instead of the 5GA snap lid. Both will work do not get me wrong. It will just be easier on you to regulate temps of the reservoir.

Run the bubbles 24/7 along with the fans the light is the only thing needed on a timer.

Any questions post them up!

Do those yeast and sugar co2 bottles really work I've always wondered if it's worth it or not thinking about putting like five in my room ?
