Stem problem, or paranoia?

Hello everyone, this is my first grow, and these plants are 17 days old. They are being grown in a aero setup. Everything else on the plant looks fantastic, save for the base of the stems which I noticed are starting to turn brown and not growing in diameter like the rest of the stem. Any ideas?

my 2 seeds look like that as well... i think its just paranoia :) it will be strong and thick as fuck above the crease... kinda like supercropping IMO
 
I thought damping off usually only occurred with young seedlings, these plants are already almost 12 inches tall and very bushy, has anyone else ever seen this?

today a 3rd plant is showing the exact same brown discoloration exactly the same height up the stem as the first two.

A bit confused at this point, any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
 
Hey toad, just trying to get some input from as many people as possible, I hope your both right... and this is my first grow, the two of you definitely have more experience than myself. I really do appreciate your input. I'm probably just paranoid, but aiming for safe vs sorry.
