suggestions on ph/ec meters

Just as it states anyone find meters that they really loved at an affordable price, or found brands that they hate and break down on them. Combos or seperate units welcome. Just don't want to waste my money on a piece of crap meter that falls apart on me or is near impossible to use. Any recommendations would be great. Thanks in advance.

I have the Milwaukee one and happy with it. I thought the probe cable wold pull out too easily, but has held up well (its just a DIN plug, if it does pop out its no prob) pH/TDS/EC all-n-one Figured if I wanted to go Hydro, Id be set. Was about $150 delivered.

I have a post of the BlueLab Tri-Meter in my blue's journal, around $250.00. should not have to buy another one from what everyone says. I had used there ec truncheon for a year and a half before that, never a problem, around $135.00. You can buy these from $10.00 to several hundred. I have found one of the d=best resources for these kinds of questions is a Hydro Shop Catalog. The manufactures send them. I have had one in my area for the last two years, that way I can view a lot of products in a lot of price ranges before buying. I try to get the best testing equipment I can afford at the time. Depending on your water situation you might be able to get by with just the drops for ph, $15.00 probably last a year, mine did. VV

I hate the drops, and I have a lot of ph issues, because my tap water is high and my nutes bring my feed water down to almost 4 so I am constantly adjusting my water. I am in soil if that matters. I just need something that I can do relatively simple tests with, since I am constantly having to test and retest, and something that gives immediate accurate results. I would like to stay under $200 but if I have to pay more so be it, around $100 would be much nicer. Thanks for the input so far guys lets keep it coming if you have any suggestions.

Garden Knowm and Hubert are two that come to mind along with fdd, DirtBagBrian, oh I'm sorry, B. thc+ r&d, etc. I installed an ro system to deal with the water problem, everything stay cleaner and lasts longer, a lot less chance of toxic salt build up. And i haven't grown in soil since my firs grow. I am not the one to help you. VV:blsmoke:

I have just bought a meter from ebay, it is brand new and is a probe that you just put in the soil, you can put it in your solution too. It also reads your light output and moisture. It only cost me £9 (approx $18) the sellers name is heatmiseruk. Here is a link to their profile - eBay My World - heatmiseruk - he is a UK seller (I live in the UK) If he won't deliver overseas I'm sure you can get them in the US too because I have noticed the same meter in several pictures posted by other users.

I should add to that reccomendation that the pH meter isn't worth a toss. And I have been advised to get rid of it, Luckily, I have a pH kit and the moisture & light meters both work alright.
