Sun vs darkness

So I'm new to growing, my plants have finally shot out nice pistols (outdoor/potted)...now that the pistols r growing so big should I give them more darkness? Atm they still get more sun then darkness

Take them out from the sun at earlier time n put in the shed, completely pitch black with 2 portable fans to keep the air flow/circulation...there in pots not in the ground so can move where ever I want
