Sunleaves Cleanwater UV Sterilizer

Has anyone used this before? I am thinking of buying it just as a safe measurement to put in our resivoir to help keep out algea and other things that will cause root problems. Worth the money or can it cause problems to root systems?

It can cause issues with nutrients. The UV can break certain chemical bonds and alter the composition of the solution. IONIC brand nutrients have a line specifically for those who use UV sterilizers.

I use a bigger UV sterilizer set-up for my R/O stored water only-then I pump into a 50 gal reservoir to mix nutes and feed---Works great.

If you change your nutes regularly,
you won't grow any algea,
and that makes the UV treatment redundant.

UV would be good to have on your RO rez,
especially if you drink from it.
