im doing a super stealth grow in a speaker. the dimensions are 17" tall x 12" wide x 6" deep. i know its a very small area but im going to use cfls and try to get some experience and maybe a small yield. what would be the best cfl setup that would fit in my grow space? i was going to use the surge protector with socket adapters so i can hang the lights from the top but i wanted to know what everyone would recommend and what you think would work the best.

I would say cool cfls for a little while during veg than maybe a 42w warm and a cool underneath the buds to stimulate the popcorn sites. You should also try a SCrog system with FIMing becuase FIMing will incrase the budsites while SCrog will increase your yield while keeping the height down. You will also need to start 12/12 after about 7inches tall. Because cannabis grows about 3x during floweing.

I have used CFLs before and I think they are great. I would suggest that you use these, they are the best that I have found:

enviro-gro-lites Online Shop

The 125w will be more than enough for the space that you have. Your problem would be balancing the colour temp as you would only fit 1 bulb in your box. I have used the 6400K for a full grow before with a few smaller wattage 2700k CFLs as supplemental lighting and it worked fine.
However you could try these:

They are the most efficient CFLs that I could find and they put out roughly the same lumens per watt as the larger bulb. The advantage would be that you could use a few of these bulbs and get a better balanced spectrum of light.

Hope this helps mate.

im going 12/12 from seed. i cant buy any lights online. is there anyway to get these at a hydro or garden shop? and if not would 3 42 watt 2700k cfls work if they put out 2800 lumens or would i need more?

Yeah you can buy these from most hydro/ grow shops in the UK, so I guess you should be able to get them wherever you are.
If not then you could use a few 42watt bulbs, I reckon you'd probably need more like 4 or 6 of them though.
Its important to remember that 3, 2800 lumen bulbs =
3 different 2800 lumen light sources, giving out 2800 lumens spread over a large area and
NOT 2800 lumens + 2800 lumens + 2800 lumens= 8400 lumens.
