Supplementing Windowsill Light With CFL

Hey all, first time grower here. I built this adjustable CFL rig for my seedlings because they looked like they weren’t getting enough natural light and starting to stretch (they are the 4 in the middle). The forecast also has nothing but cloud for the next week.

The lights are 13W 6500k CFLs.

This is just a temporary as I’ll be moving them outside when they get a little bigger.

I have them on a timer at 18/6. Do the on/off times matter that much? I have it at 2AM until 8PM now.


Plants are Cream Caramel Feminized by Sonoma Seeds in Fox Farms Ocean Forest.

Same bulbs. Mine got pretty skinny (stretched) aswell even with them like 2-3 inchs from the light. Plus 6-8 hours of sunlight. I might replant them when I move to a bigger pot idk yet I might be able to use the extra height when I do my first round of LST.

Dont sweat it they will do fine at most maybe some support as they grow.
