I have some t5's and I love them. They really put the light out without much heat. There is NO ballast so they are very quiet. And I like the switches on the side that allows you to turn on or off several of the tubes so you aren't running them all.

link to any please as i have also seen in a catalog at work T5s T8s and i think T12s going for like £10-£20 for 10 so if there good for vegin im goin to get some

but i dont get what the different numbers are all about

Try kggardensupply.com . That where i bought mine from. It has 4 two ft. bulbs. i have the "high yield" system which has two red spectrum, and two blue spectrum. supposedly they put out 2000 lumens per bulb. my grow area is only 2X2X4 so hopefully 8000 lumens gets the job done. After first harvest I will post an update. so far good growth, and plants seem happy.
