specs: htg 400 watt mh/hps ballast 6inch cool tube

Strains: 1 fast bud......2 afghan kush ryders.....2 mixes from ''short seeds short mix''I had 4 but 2 were males....first time i had ever seen one..and i have 2 jamacain dreams(photo period) freebie from the tude....that i cloned while still in the veg stage lights are still 18-6

ph 5.78 (trying to get it up to 6.4)

light 18/6 thru whole grow....i plan on switching back to the veg bulb and cloning my mother and the clone for a another fast harvest

x nutrients adv line...gave 25% strength during veg 4 or 5 times have only gave them flowering nutes a couple times at 25%....the jamacain dream i did twice...but i stopped so i could clone it....and the clone hasnt been giving any nutes either but looks the best of all....i took it in the veg stage as well as 2 others...but they didnt root but it was ok i was happy with one...it was my first time

DR90 grow tent 3x3x6.5

Soil....25%perlite 25% sphagnum peat moss 50% organic 10-5-5.....

3 gallon smartpots started on nov 7 so i should be harvesting about jan 19th from my last grow....the 2 short mixes were started a few days later...yes they should have been transplanted...no idc...i had a few small pots laying around and just thru them in there....im more worried about my mother jamacain dream..and the fast bud and akrs....my clone from the jamacain dream is thriving but may have a slight P def....looks a little blue tinted but my gf disagrees......

temps are low 70's with a 6in fan blowing air out of top left and a 6inch hydrofarm 400cfm blowing air in thru the ''window'' made of mesh from a heater set to 70......before i had the heater the leaves were all turning dark green and drying out from the cold air since than the crisp wind turned to a warm wind an hasn't damaged any more...(basement grow kinda cold...winter sucks)

ive yet to set the cool tube up...still need the venting but its been working out and it hasnt been to hot...in mh i got it about 6inchs from the top....now that its hps its a bout 3 from the tallest bud on the edge of the light...its not hot...my hand is comfortable...i may just switch to the open air reflector it came with my next grow....but than again it will be summer....damn prolly should of done that the other way around....but any how im having either nute problems or a ph problem from the peat moss breaking down...i couldnt find hypnum anywhere.......i got all the supplies late in the season....but any how...my last grow i had no problems...but this is my first time with a mh/hps...i thought it was a major isssue untill i seen em under a cfl light and realized it wasn't as bad....i havent fed em nutes for about 2 weeks now...i was trying to figure out what it is....im sure its either ph.....or a K,mn,fe,zn,or C def....or a combination....idk what do you think?

maybe even mg...hell i dont know......i hope someone does...im scared to feed if it is burn....but if its a def i need to feed....but i cant find out unless i feed....im scared if i feed em they wont make it another month.......im leaning on epsom salts 1tsp/gal

Yeah I know that, just tap water, my tap runs about 9 and I've been phing down to 6.5 but I've been stopping at 7.5 to try and raise it, each grow I've had I've battled low ph

As far as PH, do you add any lime when you plant?
To me, pic 1 looks like bugs, and the burned tips look like nute burn.
Any chance the yellowing is from overwatering?
Peat could very easily be staying wet in the middle of the pot longer than the surface or sides.

No I've looked for it but have never found it, as for over watering I'm pretty good at telling when my pots needs water from the weight, and no bugs, there were springtails but they disappeared, that leaf is the only one with holes, I remember reading somewhere it was a def, but I don't recall what kind....any other suggestions I'm stuck..... To feed or not to feed..... I'm waiting another watering or 2 before I do...... Trying to get that ph up,,,, do u think I should drop my tap to eight and see what comes out

Hi

Your set up looks very good apart from one thing - ph is too low - - a mix of: Soil....25%perlite 25% sphagnum peat moss 50% organic 10-5-5.....

tells me that there's no nutrient issues - don't feed right now - let your plants dry out more than you normally would before re-watering and in the meantime get yourself some calcium carbonate or equivalent (see here:
http://www.google.co.uk/url?sa=t&rc...6I13lvVpFBiE2cIMAsAsQ&bvm=bv.1355534169,d.d2k)

Apply as a little top dressing to your pots before next watering. Be careful with application rates - easy to add more, not so easy to remove overdose. You should be able to find a proprietary brand if you have a good horticultural supplier. Peat moss is very acidic, I don't know the other soil product, but if you're going to use the peat for texture/water retention then you need to buffer it with something like that ^^^^

Obviously I can't be 100%, but it's the one thing that jumps out

Good luck!

What do u think I should sub peat for, I was thinks of trying coco, either sub that for peat moss/and or go a hempy coco, throw some ideas guys

That link won't work bro, mind posting it again? And I've begun to believe its ph, especially since it becomes more acidic overtime unlike hypnum, I think I'll try to sub coco next grow and have a few plants in 100 percent coco

normally when leaves curl upwards its a deficiency. that and the purple stem tellls me its phosphorous. but you might have a purple strain haha

I know fast bud is a purple strain from my last go,developed color about the same time last grow,I'm beginning to believe its lockout from low ph, I'm gonna try and find this moebius guys thread

Hi. Link no good? Here's a page full http://www.google.co.uk/search?clie....108.1147.15j1.16.0...0.0...1ac.1.3HaFUXmrzZk

No coco either pal, it's just as acidic as peat moss - also, your organic soil products can be a bit fruity, you need to check its ph too. There's a lot more 'action' going on in organic soils, one process involves living organisms turn organic matter into sulphur (that's sulfur to you) which is also acidic. I'd recommend John Innes soil and composts with added perlite - ph balanced and good nutritious stuff. See if you can't find it over your way - maybe there's an agent, or someone selling on licence under a different trade name. Cheers

It's not lock-out from low ph. It's nothing like as bad as that. Your plants will actually be able to uptake some goodies from the soil at lower ph, say 5.5, that they wouldn't be able to access at higher levels, say 7, and vice versa - so as you slide down the scale, some nutrients become available that weren't before and others are no longer accessible by the plant - that's why you want to keep your plant in the optimum range, a bit of fluctuation is a good thing, yours are just a little too depressed for too long. Al sulfate is another item you might want to look at. But after this grow, change media composition - but stop stressing - you can fix it, it's really not that bad!

Damn ok, so kinda just one of those fix it for next time things huh? U think egg shells would do any good or is it far to late? Damn I'm about to just go back to mg, I thought this organic shit would work better, how much lime should in premix in the soil I'm finding a broad spectrum of answers

So what should I do lol sorry man I'm just struck

Things to do 1) Read Post 15 again, especially the last bit. Chill! Your plants will be ok. 2) Worry about what to grow in next later. 3) eggs shells no good, but crushed oyster shell better (still slow release though) 4) Get some calc carb or Al sulfate and follow directions on application rates - a little at a time, you can always add more. Use it as a top dressing and water it in

It's not necessarliy the organic stuff, that's probably fine, much more likely it's the coupling of that with peat moss, stay organic, just use a neutral ph peat alternative, there's loads around, and remember that peat or peat subs have no nutrition, they're just texture/retention improvers. If you do this (sub peat for ph neutral alternative) then you won't need to do any liming, ok?

Well guys they made it... Chopped the fast bud and akr New Year's Eve.... Little early but it's ok there will be more.... One akr and my two mixes are still holding on.... I got 16 g dry off the fast bud and 23.5 off the akr just went into jars....akrs a little disappointing both phenos I got don't compete with the fast bud.... Let ya know a smoke report in a couple weeks
