Ok so I keep getting these big temptation to just move some of the soil and look at whats going on underneath, I planted a seed on the 14th, and just really want to know if anything at all is going on under there.

How damaging/stressful could this be, if at all?
 
I wouldn't bother, to be honest. You will hopefully see the results before too long. If you go digging, you might damage any tiny roots that may have sprouted by now.
 
just wait...it takes patience! if your gf was pregnant and the baby didn't come on its due date, are you gonna go "poking" around?
 
good analogy bonghitter. i will leave them in peace! has anyone else ever wanted to do that? everytime i check if its sprouted i get the feeling haha, but im going to control it!
 
My seeds usually come out within a week, I've only had one that hasnt popped up and it didnt crack open or anything, I just tossed it. I say give it a week from the day you planted it nothing happens go digging and find the problem
 
I do that.... sometimes I think when you water the soil gets a bit compacted... more so if just a soil mix....... I use a fork ti loosen up and take a peek.......
Seeds can take 24 hours to about 10 days...
