TGA genetics and cfls

I was wondering if anyone has tried to grow and tga strains under some cfls. I know, I know I will eventually get setup with some HID lighting, but for now I am working with what my current situation allows. I have been reading a lot about theses strains and I really would like to grow some out.

I just don't know if I should try one out now or wait until I have a more proper setup. I would like to try Chernobyl or Querkle first. It would probably be better to go with Querkle under cfls, since it is mostly indica.

There is nothing different about TGA gear that requires special lighting its cannabis.

Im sold. I did not think that they require special lighting. For some reason when I think about your strains I automatically think about growing them in super soil and your method of vegging for 60 days. 60 days of veg would not be good with cfls unless i had LOTS of them. I guess I would just have to adjust my veg time and growing method just like I would any other strain if I am using cfls. So.. ya that was kind of a stupid question lol. I think I will get some querk and chernobyl then.

I like using daylight cfls for under canopy lighting during flowering especially when using a low wattage HID and with plants ending up too tall, I've been using them since for the past few grows. After harvesting tops, the cfls gets unplugged and the HPS just get hung lower for another 2-3 weeks of fattening up. Those 26 watter cfl are not really hot it just takes finesse in not burning too many leaves within and the yields were obviously increased without doubt.

Very nice, I should give that a try...

ittle work for sure its just your better off with hid's inside yields will be decent with t5's and vegging and training right but i say if you had 2 250 hps's instead of that t5 youd be singing a much happier tune

those are def impresssive petey, but how dense are they??? Either way they look amazing... but i must agree with unk, the 250's will kill the T-5s 8 days a week... Its physics my brudda...

dont rip the cfl dude. thats how i started out as well. we do what we can with what we can. I have moved on to a 150hps but got decent results with cfl...... course i was running 20 of them suckers! and i only need a little bit of medication to get me to my next harvest. small setups work good for some.

Yep, me too.... HPS is the way to go for sure, but we all do what we can. those 20 cfls I was using added up to 460 watts, got them for $1 a piece, was cheap to purchase, but cost too much to run for the results I was getting. switched over to a cheap 150 HPS and got a little better results from way less wattage. I paid $90 for the new light, but now the cost to run is less. I'm on a very limited budget and am trying to get the biggest yield for the lowest cost. did pretty well last time with the hps. As soon as things change, I am upgrading to a 400 HPS, or possibly some led lighting. Guess we'll see when the time comes.

Happy growing yall!
