Love to cook and love to eat (can I hear it for the chubbers?). Hate the drive to see family in Kenosha, WI, though..

Probably my favorite holiday. Get two days off work, eat your face off, no stupid holiday songs, spend time woth friends and family, foot ball, food and naps.

I also like that it has a positive meaning to it about being thankful and different groups of pilgrims and indians coming together, no religous BS involved.

we celebrate someone who didn't discover America, we celebrate someone that introduced disease and other foreign pathogens. I hate it because I have to go to my in laws every fucking year and choke down the overcooked bland food. I would rather sit home and watch the Lions lose and watch my plants and celebrate my growing.
and since the Christmas season starts in October, there wont be many more Thanksgivings left.

I observe it every year. While my family is a very diverse group, we all pull together and bring a couple dishes each.

For me, personally, it is a time of fellowship with the family. That and Christmas are the two times a year when we all put our differences of opinion aside and be thankful for making it through another year.

I used to really enjoy thanksgiving but its been so commercialized with the black friday bullshit everywhere you look i cant stand it any longer.

Xmas has become so distorted & twisted over the last 40 yrs, families feel obligated to spend thousands they dont have via credit cards,so they can keep up with the neighbors, anymore thanksgiving is the 1st day families buy things for all the wrong reasons.

I can remember getting a bike for xmas & being the talk of the town because all my friends got footballs, dump trucks, basketballs ect & families with more than 1 kid gave their kids gifts to share like board games.

Nowdays if you only got a bike for xmas you'd be ashamed of your parents.

Dude ! Love the Indian warrior , i remember that anti littering campaign very well & was recently telling my youngest son about how much Americans littered in the 70's, i remember volunteering to clean up debris from Michigans river systems in like 1976 , it was so bad the army corp of enjeneers organized & staffed the events, ive got pics somewhere showing the piles we made.

Fukk we were pulling washing machines & car tires out of the rivers every few yards , i helped in Detroit Flint & Saginaw & the Flint river was so full of metal in one spot you could cross the river on washing machines tv sets & mattresses & never get your feet wet.

I remember watching cops pull out of Mcdonalds parking lot back in the early 70's & throwing out all their bags & cups from both meals right in the middle of telegraph road.

Hate it for multiple reasons. The biggest being the fake ass image of it. That shit never happened. Also giving thanks! People ain't thankful for shit. Evidence being the VERY next day. Foods good. And wasteful.

I'm kind of a pushover...

I hate Thanksgiving until right around the day of, and then I'm like "oh yeah, I'm an ass, there are people starving all over." Then I feel a little guilty for not being more grateful for what I have... then I eat until I'm emotionally numb again, and start the pattern over for next year.

Happy holidays!
