the best germination method.(hybrid method)

so there are a couple of germination methods.i usually us the moist-papertowel method what i learned many years ago from this site.before that i used the regular-out the seeds in the water jug and put it somewhere warm and dark.these both method works great,but know i have a white widow seed what has been about 5 days in moist towel and know i placed it in jug of water.i can seed the whit part of the root tip but it aint getting trough.
so is my hybrid method going to work and what do you think fellow growers?share your opinions and tricks, tips..

One of my seeds did that to me. I put it in some soil under a light and it popped 48 hrs later. She's out in the sun doing good.
