The best way to PH your water

Hello all i was wondering if anyone had any input on the best way to ph your water. I am going to be growing in soil and currently have a cheap ph meter that i purchased on ebay and right now my tap water is bouncin around between 7.3-7.4 the meter reads. I currently fill gallon jugs of water and leave the cap off and let the water sit for a few days. If anyone has any step-by-step input on the best way to ph your water that would be great.

Add vinegar to drop Ph and Baking Soda to increase.

Or just buy ph up and ph down
