As you may have noticed from some of the earlier photos, many of my vegetable plants are coming back!

This is that Amish Paste tomato plant that I yanked out of my old bed and replanted here. It actually survived through the winter and is ready to rock and roll!

Just need to trim a few things and take some clones and it looks like I'll be on my way to more harvests in the future. Just gets better and better with each season. There is no work that goes unrewarded, sometimes it just takes time.

I'll get on posting my strain reviews later tonight, gotta go get more work done. Thanks for reading!

Hey everyone. Sorry I've been too busy to post like I said I would. Got some spare time and I'm going to finally give strain/smoke reports on all the different stuff I grew this last round outdoors.

First up is Greenpoint Seeds. I grew 3 of their strains; 6 Citron, 6 Lemon Tree Punch, and 4 Sweets. Aside from the Citron #2, its all pretty mediocre. Nothing that really "jumps out" in terms of smell or taste. Potency is average, in my opinion. Not bad, but nothing amazing either.

I'd like to both point out and emphasize some things about Greenpoint Seeds, mostly concerning my personal experience with them.

1) These plants were barely vegged. Only about 2 weeks vegging in 2g pots before they went outdoors. Aside from Citron #2 (impressive 2.5ft tall), none of the plants were taller than 1ft when I put them outside for 12/12. Very small plants.

2) Temps. I put these out in the beginning on January. Very little direct sunlight compared to spring and summer; highs were 60-65F and nightly lows got to 25-30F. Definitely stressful.

3) Animal Cookies lineage. Greenpoint is very adamant about how picky and finicky Animal Cookies is; I knew that going into this. They weren't kidding. You could easily tell which ones were Animal Cookie dominant; plants were the smallest, and most stressed out from the cold temps.

While I am pretty unimpressed, and likely won't be dealing with Greenpoint in the future, I will also admit that a lot of the mediocre results was due to the stress I put them through that I outlined above.

But, its also worth mentioning that the other strains from other breeders were put through the exact same conditions as the Greenpoint seeds were. Low temps, little veg time, small root masses, etc. Literally all 7 of the non-Greenpoint seeds showed WAY better results. While I will admit there was stress and error on my part, I also believe it is worth noting that only Greenpoint's seeds suffered.

Below is Greenpoint Seeds' Citron (Clementine x Animal Cookies)

6 plants with 3 phenotypes from the looks of it. C3-C6 were all Animal Cookies phenos, C1 looked like a perfect cross of the 2 strains, and C2 looked like Clementine. It sure smokes like it too. Decent tangerine haze smell to it, and very nice buds. Plant also had the best structure. Unfortunately, C2 is the only strain I'd ever consider growing again from Greenpoint. And even then, way better options for a tangerine haze flavor profile. I just came up on some "Tangie" freebies from DNA Genetics and I expect way better results from DNA, as usual. DNA has never failed me for over a decade now.

Below, we have the Lemon Tree Punch (Lemon Tree x Purple Punch) and The Sweets (Fruity Pebbles x Animal Cookies). Both from Greenpoint.

Yup. That's it. That one Lemon jar is what I got from all 6 of the plants; very little growth. Nothing to really write home about. Not much of a lemon nor purple scent to them. They were so unmemorable, I just combined them all into the same jar.

Same thing with "The Sweets". I knew The Sweets would suffer, seeing as Animal Cookies and Fruity Pebbles are both very finicky strains. But I expected the Purple Punch Lemon strain to do better. Very mediocre strains and seeds overall, and I don't see myself growing anything from them again. I learn more and more to not stray from Attitude seeds; used them since 2008 and they've never let me down. I stopped using them because it used to take 3-4 weeks to get my orders. But for the last year, they've been only taking 1-2 weeks max. They've stepped it up, and have been consistent for me for the past 14 years since I've started growing.

20220423_162543.jpg

Below, we have "Bruce Banner" from Weedseedsexpress.com. I doubt its the "real" Bruce Banner, and likely just a random amateur cross of the two strains to make their own version of "Bruce Banner".

Whatever it is, this strain has been wonderful and consistent for the last year now. In fact, this is the largest plant in my tent right now. The 25g one. Flavors of the various phenotypes have varied from berries, hazy, and cotton candy.

This strain has handled some of the most neglect and stress I could throw at it. It survived both the desert summers (110-130F), and the desert winters (25-65F), and yielded outstandingly in both instances. Large fall plants yielded 1lb each, on average. Winter plants outdoors yielded between 3-6 ounces! Incredible yielder, and stretches like crazy. This plant will grow 3x in flower if you push it with the nutes.

Unfortunately, my Bruce mother vegged on me. So, right now, I'm trying to get 3 flowering branches to root, then reveg them. I'm also trying to reveg my Bruce mother outdoors, then take new clones from it once it has recovered. Worst case scenario, I'll have to buy more seeds.

As for the potency; its definitely above average, but still not quite "one hit" either. If you're looking for the best of the best, and a "one hit" strain, this is not it. That said, the potency is above average, and the smoking experience is great too. Good flavor, and smooth smoke. That said?

This plant is one of the best yielders I've ever had, second only to Blue Dream. It is also pretty much impossible to kill this plant. Bugs don't mess with it, it handles up to 130F heat and as low as 25F. If you're looking for a huge yielder, I definitely recommend this, and it has become a staple in my garden for the past year now.

Next up we have Banana Dance (Dancehall x Banana sativa) from Freedom of Seeds on Attitude.

Wow. This one was exceptional, and very much surprised me. This is borderline "one hit" stuff. I can't even smoke this during the day, actually.

Freedom of Seeds is new to me, so I took a chance on these guys. I found them because I've been searching for a true banana smelling strain for years now. All have disappointed me, but this one has come the closest for me.

The larger jar in the 2nd picture below has this crazy earthy and funky fermented banana flavor it it. The smoke is both amazing and memorable.

The 2 smaller jars in the 1st picture below are different phenotypes of Banana Dance. They have a standard "earthy" smell to them, but these were some of the stickiest buds I've ever trimmed. The smoke is very dank and potent as well.

There were 2 distinct phenotypes from the 3 plants I had. Both handled the cold temps very well, and they stretched to a little over double their size in flower. Very hardy plant that grows very uniformly and would be perfect for a SOG grow. I am so impressed with Freedom of Seeds that I'm trying more of their strains this year.

Going to do their Freedom Haze and Dieselicious this year. Seeds are cheap too, but don't let that fool you. This was an amazing experience for me, and I'll continue to use Freedom of Seeds in the future if these results are consistent.

Pictured below is the Holy Grail Kush from DNA Genetics.

Another winner from DNA Genetics, and my new favorite of theirs. Definitely one of their best strains, as they said. This one was somewhat vulnerable to bugs, and started foxtailing on me during the last few weeks. Likely because of the temp changes from winter to spring. Still a great performer, nonetheless. Great plant structure and nice fat looking buds. Plants barely doubled in size, but still yielded well despite that. Medium sized plants with big nugs.

I have 2 phenotypes from 2 plants.

One had a stereotypical earthy scent to it, reminiscent of LA Confidential or an Afghani.

The other one though? Oh my Lord, it smells absolutely amazing! No lie, it smells like a combination of berries and Mountain Dew. Never smelled anything like this from weed before. I'll definitely be doing this one again sometime.

Potency is very much there too. Couple hits of this is all it takes, nugs were incredibly sticky too.

Next up is Maltezers [(Gorilla Glue x Zkittlez) x Double Black] from G13 Labs Seeds.

Yet another consistent strain and staple in my garden for the past year. This one came as a freebie seed from Attitude, and is still one of my best performers. From how it smells and grows, this appears to be a Zkittlez dominant pheno, it smells like rotten skittles. Very tasty and potent smoke, also something I reserve for night time. It says its a sativa dominant strain, but it hits like an indica for me. Puts me on my ass.

Grows a little over double it size in flower, uniform growth, and very resilient.

While I do enjoy this particular strain, my experiences with G13 seeds have been hit or miss. I've ordered some of their seeds and received freebies from them in the past, and they have always been hit or miss with everything from germination to quality. This particular one is wonderful though, but just be mindful of mixed experiences.

Below is Cheesilicious from Europa Seeds. I got 2 of these seeds as freebies from 2 different orders. I ended up popping them recently because, well, why not?

I got 2 phenos out of the 2 seeds.

First pheno was a tall, lanky, christmas tree type plant. The potency is definitely there, but the smell is your typical "earthy dank" smell and nothing too eventful. Plant took to stress very well, had many resistances, and a little more than doubled in flower stretch. Above average potency, but nothing super unique about it.

The second pheno though? Oh man, incredible. This is easily some of the smelliest weed that I have at the moment, and have had for a long time. Delightful fruity sour smell that fills the room the literal instant you open the jar. Tastes great, and very potent. I don't smoke joints of this anymore, only made that mistake once lol.

Only $32 for 5 seeds of this strain, I'd certainly say its worth the money. Even more worth the money if you get the 2nd phenotype like I did.

Below is Super Shark from 710 Genetics.

Yet another freebie from a seedbank I've never heard of, and yet another freebie that blew me away. Just look at the photos! This one was extremely frosty, as you can see.

This one is a White Widow cross, and boy is it as potent and frosty as I remember White Widow being. I haven't seen White Widow in dispensaries for a while, seems this strain fell out of favor, but its still a good one.

I'm discovering that many of the "old school" strains are the best, and these "new school" strains are nothing but hype and mediocrity. Just my personal opinion from my own experiences, and this strain certainly drives the point home.

The flavor is a very sweet combination of skunky and earthy, very delightful to smell and taste. If any of you have smoked White Widow back in the 90s, this is very reminiscent. Seems like a legit White Widow cross to me, and crossing Widow with Skunk was smart of these guys.

This plant could take one hell of a beating. In fact, just look at the nug below, fattest nug I got from my winter crop.

This certainly has the potency of White Widow too, I'm inclined to believe this is legit after my experiences both growing and smoking the stuff. I've since ordered another 5 pack of these seeds, and have 2 of them getting ready to germinate now in fact.

I am beyond eager to grow this one again, as simple to grow as it was potent.

This one did not stretch very much though, barely got to be 2x its size. But, like the Holy Grail Kush above, the lack of stretch is more than made up by how fat the buds are on this plant. Seeing as this strain is one that I decided to purchase again, I'd highly recommend it. Especially if you're wanting that old school "White Widow" high and flavor. And trust me, this is just like the White Widow I had from back in the day.

20220428_131945.jpg

20220428_131952.jpg

And finally, we have Purple Wreck from DNA Genetic's Reserva Privada. Yet another strain I can only smoke at night, its way too powerful for me in the day time. Perhaps my tolerance has just fallen, haha.

Anyway, this strain is straight fire. One hit weed for sure. It is incredibly mellow and relaxing, almost too much. I save this for night time use, or I mix a little tiny bit of it with other strains to give it a little extra "oomph".

This strain doubles in size during flower stretch. However, it doesn't grow upward, but actually bushes out instead. This plant has tons of smaller dense buds, as opposed to a handful of fat buds. Average bud size of the Purple Wreck for me has been what you see below, and this actually purples on you in temps as high as 65-70F. Very frosty, and potent. This one can be finicky for sure. Does not do good in the summers out here, but does decent in the winters.

I will happily recommend anything that DNA Genetics does. My favorite breeder, even after all these years. Only DNA Genetics has given me consistency for over a decade.

20220423_174646.jpg

And finally, below is about everything that I harvested from my small winter outdoor I posted about from January to March in this journal.

20220422_200219.jpg

Managed to pull 26 ounces in total from all of those plants. Not too shabby considering how small half of them were.

Most of the Greenpoint strains will likely be turned into concentrates, or edibles. Not good enough to smoke as flower alone, in my opinion. Especially not when I have so many other winners that I outlined above.

Anyway, hopefully these long winded reviews prove to be useful for anyone reading. I know how frustrating it can to not find any information about new strains and/or breeders, so hopefully this was useful for somebody.

All the best, and happy growing!

Awesome man. Next time you order the jars PM me and I'll try to find the ones that come with the Cardboard box with them and send the link. Did you get those at Walmart? I've got 5 of the cardboard boxes now. It keeps the light out, and makes it easier to deal with.

Oh. I get the Wide Mouth ones though. That makes it easier too I think.
