This bud look okay?

This is my first grow. I am getting close to chopping this one. It started to form green cones on the buds over the last two days. Is that part of the final stages or did I screw something up? I accidently left a 60w CFL on the other night near the grow area. So I had a light leak through my fan holes for about 8 of the 12 hours. Not very bright but a light leak none the less.

I thought maybe it was the hairs starting to suck into the cones and that is what I am seeing or swelling? Learning as I go here...

Sorry about the HPS light in the pic but I figured it would be good enough for what I am asking.

those look better than my first time haha. they look great. im not too sure about the hairs but the look fine to me.
about the light being left on for 8-12 hours, that should not be any problem at all especially if its a small light leak. just as long as it doesnt keep happening than u got nothing to worry about.

Those shoots are called fox tails. I think it's just a trait of some strains.

Yeah thats called foxtailing bro. It might be a genetic trait but it is also caused by to high, or to low of tempetures. I think a little bit to much nitrogen might cause this aswell. Not realy a bad thing. Might be a little tuffer to trim, and it takes down the bag appeal in my opinion. Nice plant though man. Congrats!

Thanks for all the replies. So no problem smoking them fox tails then? That pic is of my tallest plant so it does get some heat on the main cola. The temps were getting up to 93 at the top. I added another fan and it dropped it down into the upper 80's. My 360W HPS conversion bulb (MH ballast) throws off quite a bit of heat.

Not a problem at all. Those high temps are probly the culprite. My guess is the plant is trying to fluff out a bit to deal with the temps, don't know about cold temps though. Just an opinion. Its usually the indica doms that do this to me. Temps in my room or more suited to a sativa.
