This CFL is AMAZING.

Hey all. Just wanted to let everyone check out how well, one of my little problems is coming along. I recently bought a 100 W CFL Floodlight, and a 65 W CFL. I am planning on installing them both in my grow box, But until the box is complete, I am using them on my current outdoor hydroponic grow, and am installing the other directly into my box for storing till its ready..

Anyway, enough babble unto the pictures, which we all love so much. These pictures are of BS 1, 2, and 3. And a Blue Mystic sprout. BS 1-3 all inserted to rock wool upon 1/2 inch taproot. Blue Mystic was germinated inside rock wool, it took almost a week longer.

This is the whole setup, like i said out door hydroponics, it get around 8.5 hours of natural sun everyday and the help of this beautiful 100 watt CFL. B4 the CFL, it was under an 60 watt fluorescent grow lamp, the was way too hot to be effective.
Had to keep it 6-8 inches from the plants or burning they went.

There is infestation, but I'm in the heart of florida, and I cant get rid of everything. Besides some annoying bugs, they are healthy!

That horrible crack there, was caused by FROGS..Those little bastards have been preforming LST on my plants since the were 4....4 days old people.

She is healing up beautifully. Under the 100 watt CFL, and basking in a new irrigation setup inside, she is basking in healing beauty. These CFL's are amazing. The company claims 6,700 photopic lumens, yet beware the box also boasts on how it is 10,050 Lumens, not telling you that it is based on scotopic lumens! So you get about 6,700 from a 100W CFL. Nice!

I just can't get over those frogs, they kill off most of the insects for me at least.

My baby showing off those curves!!

This CFL does give off a little bit of heat, but im thinking of a DIY project to fix that too.....hmmm.

Comments, Suggestions??

you need to take cover off and put it 2 inches form the tops... you have some stretching going on

The stretching was all from that 60 watt fluorescent lamp that sucked, which I had it under prior the 100 Watt CFL! I'm planning on removing the cover, and getting some venting to blow air over the bulb, for lower temps, but its still all under thought processing, any ideas guys?

Take this :joint: then comment, then pass.

use that 60 too.. i dont know if you fuck with electrial stuff but it would cut down on heat if you take it apart and re/wire it so it has a remote ballast you can but outside of the box, ill try to find the instructions to do it....

I've got two of those 100 watters in my veg cabinet along with 8 23watt cfls. Try removing that cover that's in front of the bulb; it seems to block some light. Also, if you're lacking headroom in your cabinet, you can disassemble the whole unit and end up with bulb, socket, and ballast and cut down on the height of the light rig.

I just felt of my ballasts and they are barely warm so no real need to get them outside of the cab.

don't guess overhead is a problem if this is outdoor hydro...
somehow missed that first read
Yup, but not for long, I am building there growbox, as we speak. I will have pictures tonight! So, I will probably go ahead and dismantle the ballast, if my headroom becomes a problem, which it will and I know it. But thanks man!
