Thrip attack!

So I’ve had quite a bad attack of thrips in my grow room. I was too complacent at first I thought it was a nute deficiency with the markings on the leaves. Really rookie mistake on my part ! I’ve now ascertained it to be thrips... can see them on the back of the leaves.. can see their poo... the markings they leave etc my 27 girls are 7 weeks old from seed so are still in veg at the moment. Pretty much every plant has been affected, some worse than others.. I’ve pruned all the worse affected leaves and I’ve sprayed with insecticide every couple of days. Is there anything else I should be doing? Should I cut out every single leaf that been affected? There’s soo many ! If anyone else has had this problem and has managed to solve it please impart your wisdom! Couple of the plants are starting to look quite sick I’m getting a little worried. Thanks for any help!

I currently have thrips and have not solved it but have controlled it. I leave the effected leaves alone but if they are super damaged I remove them. I use spinosad in water mix and water the plants with it. Do that a few times with a week or so in between. I do not spray anything on the plant as it ruins the buds imo. To remove thrips on the leaves I use scotch tape on the end of a pencil and dab them away. One turn around the pencil or a little more, then reverse the tape so the sticky part is facing out. Here is a video showing how to do it with your finger.

They can hide under the leaves so check the bottom of the leaves too.

as long as you are still in veg you can spray the heck out of them just dont flip to flower until you get it under control if you can i had bugs on my first run and waited way to long consider it a lesson learned

Thrips are incredibly easy to get rid of.

I got them 2 years ago and sprayed them once with spinosad and knocked them dead. I caught mine early though

This looks advanced so I would spray multiple times.

Mix and apply per instructions and make sure you get the underside of leaves. This is where they hide. Give a thorough spray

I use Safer's End All concentrate mixed according to directions with 10ml/L canola oil added and a good spray every 4 days for 4 treatments and they're gone. Works great for mites to. Just stick to the schedule so you only have to do it once. Any insecticidal soap with the canola or neem oil will do the job. The concentrate is the same price as a 1L pre-mixed one but makes 10L.

I have a few of the little buggers on my two plants but have been hunting them down by hand and none found on the big plant in over a week and found two babies on the smaller plant today. A lot easier than mites as they tend to stay in one area whereas mites spread out all over fast.
