Tincture making with 200 proof ethyl alcohol

On the advice of another member in RIU I attempted to source some everclear to make some very potent tincture with only to find out I live in a state that makes it's sale illegal. What's a grower to do? Use something stronger that the stupid government doesn't deem illegal. Makes sense right?

200 proof ethyl alcohol for $83/gallon shipped to the front door. Shit you couldn't buy 5 fifths of everclear in Kentucky for that price. Seems like the right way to go. Apparently the shit is used in culinary extractions regularly and is completely unregulated. A fucking 15 year old kid with a debit card could order this shit and get him and his buddies hammered on the cheap. Goddam why wasn't the internet this advanced in my youth?

I'm tired of eating butter but love edibles. I'm hoping the tincture will be potent and overwhelmingly strong. I plan to process some flower, bho, and trim all separately. I'll post and share the results of all 3 including pictures of the making process.
 
I make everything with graves its 190 proof so I imagine 200 would be great. makes pretty good QWET davs imho

Got alot of trim and wanna make something of it. Is making a tincture a effective extraction method?

Of course! My wife handles all the decarbing. She puts the trim material on cookie sheets, double wraps with aluminum foil, and bakes for 45 minutes at 225-240. The butter she makes with it is very strong. I gave my sister in law 2 table spoons melted in a shot glass. She slept for over 12 hours then puked for 2 hours in my spare bedroom after she woke up. I ate double the amount and it was just another day ending in y for me :)

Anyhow, a fella on here that recommended this process for tincture did so with flower. I plan to follow his advice and will use a nice 1/4 ounce of frosty flower for my first batch. I'll have the wife do a nice decarb on it prior to beginning the tincture making to ensure maximum effect. I have horrid insomnia and bi-polar disorder. Strong butter is the only thing that helps me deal with being around people without being immensely stressed out. I'm just sick of eating 3-4 tablespoons of butter every night. Shit isn't healthy and wrecks my stomach. I do have some MCT oil to make an extract with also, but I hear it's not as strong so it's still sitting on my storage shelf in the basement.

I have about 10 ounces in my deep freeze I need to process. I'm going to do some reading to see if there's a viable method to work it all in a tincture extract. I just don't know how much would be required to work that much material. I don't want to spend an arm and a leg on this stuff. One way to approach it would be to run it all through as bubble hash and then put all of the hash into your tincture. That would be a great deal more cost effective. 200 proof washed over all that material would probably produce a far superior result though. Nothing would be missed.

I know this pain well. I've begun making chocolates and now I'm considering making megabutter (butter+oil). I use ghee from stop and shop and easy melt Ghirardelli chocolate on a double boiler takes 5 mins to melt butter/chocolate together and is easier to consume on tummy

I like medibles too they prevent my wifes bipolar aswell so we need to process alot into edibles for her anxiety especially now during covid. plus u can make them instantly they harden in freezer in 5 mins

edit :decarb in a wide mouth ball jar then toss in ghee and cook in oven at 250ish for 2hrs to infuse ghee then add to chocolate *

Wow ok I was mistaken, U have alot of trim! :o
If u can use hash, could u just decarb all the trim, blender it to powder and add to lets say...a milkshake? Would this give 100% effect?

Do u just soak it in the solution over time to make tincture/extract it or do u need to heat up? If u could just soak it in Alkohol and forget about it until straining time that would be awesome.
 
I wonder if you make "shatter" (however you call it) with non-edible alcohol. At the end, you evaporate it anyway. Any opinions?
