Too Lanky????

i have some sprouts that are about 4 inches tall, but theres not that much leaf developement, and the stems are not hardy i have one flourescant that i believe is 14 wat becuase it says 14W, it has been about 2 and a half feet above them, and now it is about 1 foot above, i leave it on constantly. do you think it was becuase the light was far away, do you think that they will toughen up, is thisn normal?

I'm not too sure about flourescents, but since I hear they're very low in the heat making, unlike Metal Halides, you should put em an inch or so away from the plant or as close as you can without burning them.

14W seems very very low, but again, there should be tons of light articles out there that will give you an idea of what kind of wattage your plants need.

Your stems are becoming weak because they don't have enough light, which takes energy to try and "reach" that. Also, maybe have a very very small breeze on the plant so it builds some square muscle.
