when should you stop topping? (1 week pre flowering, 1 week into flowering, 2 weeks into flowering)? when is necessary to stop with the topping?

from what i understand you should noy top at all in flowering stage. thats just what i read

I was und3er the assumption that you only did it once to get 4 main colas instead of 2.
