anyway after analyzing what could be keeping my plants so small ive come to the conclusion its gotta be the soil. im not going to go into specifics why i think that , but thats what i think. anyway im wondering how can i transplant from this bad soil to good soil? i obviously want to get as little as the bad soil in the new pot as possible. so how do i go about not destroying my plants while getting them in new soil.thanks in advance

dje...

How rooted are they? Will they come out of the container and stay in a solid mass..or will the soil all fall away leaving bare roots?

What was the old soil..what is the new/better soil?

more info would help!

im not sure how rooted they are. when i transplanted from cups to 1 gallon pots there wasnt much of a root ball. much of the soil fell away unless i watered before pulling them out of the cups. the old soil was a general purpose potting soil with no added nutes mixed with perlite. i think the soil was bad first off because there is small bark and stuff in it and i dont think i added enough perlite. the new soil will either be fox farm ocean forest or a custom mix found online. so should i water before translplanting or should i have them fairly dry and try to loose as much soil as possible off the roots before putting in new soil?

na just go with a bigger wider, deeper pot,,
careful about how much soil you shake free ..I really wouldnt shake ...there already going to go through a stunt for a week or two,,if you transplant. no need to stress her further..
Its not hard to reuse soil either ad a little compost..its spent you can adjust to your own pref..
get a ppm and ph and soil probe and adjust
