what does it mean if trichomes turn dark orange early in flowering? they have a burnt look to them on the actual stem...its the 2 hairs that come out to tell u its sex that its female but they were white few weeks ago......what does this mean because the plants are hardly budding yet i can see trichomes sticking up on the bud sites but those are all creamy white at the moment....help will be fully appreciated..

Well first Trichomes and Pistils (hairs) are not the same so I'm not sure what you're talking about. If pistils are turning red and have a burn look is because of heat stress. Toxicities and defs appear on the leaves so you know

Those hairs are actually pistils, not trichomes. Your trichomes are the frosty looking crystals that form. Some of my pistils started turning orange before I could see trichomes with the naked eye. I'm chopping one of mine on sunday. My trichomes are mostly cloudy with a bit of amber, and still have white pistils forming.

I'm no expert, but it's seems normal for lower fan leaves to gradually turn yellow and fall off. And 87f seems too hot to me. I personally keep my temp between 75-80 in light, and 70-75 in dark.

heating at night is the problem for me as i have nothing to keep them warm id say they hit around 20c the lowest and then 87 at daytime so i think i best get myself another fan asap.

yes i suppose leaves will fall off because its now concentrating on forming the buds which hopefully in a couple of weeks they will be forming into hopefully thick buds....ive started this back in sept/october its now december and there only 1ft tall lol this is cos i didnt want them to out grow my box which is looking likely now lol

The one I'm chopping sunday is on;y 14 inches tall. My other one just hit week 6 of flower, and is about the same height, and the buds on main colas are 4-6 tall.

no you need to bring your temps down like 15 degrees... =) i have noticed that lower temps during the end of flowering have increased the smell level a few notches
