Two issues with my plants - One in tank, three in soil.

Having two issues. The first one, the leaf by itself is showing spots. All three of my plants in soil are starting to show these spots. They are in their 4th week of flowering, still have 3-6 more weeks I'm guessing. I was using General Hydroponics Flora series, until I read that it was not good for soil, how true that is, at this point I am unsure. I switched to Botanicare pure blend Pro series and have been using that for about 2 weeks now. Also just started using Molasses in my mix, 1 TPS per gallon.

The problem, I think is that I just recently read that I should water with JUST PH'd water every other time I water.. I have not been doing that, ever. Plants are about 3 months old and just now showing this issue. Could that be the problem? I only water then dry - about 2-3 times a week since flowering. They go dry every 2-3 days. 5 gallon pots.

Second is my one tank plant. Just recently I started seeing yellow leaves. Still using the Flora series here. Just changed the water yesterday, is getting worse now. PH is at 6.3, maybe to high? It was fine for the past 2 months at this level.

Can you please tell us PH, ppm levels for the soil and tank plants. What is the ph when you feed and what is your reading coming out? The reason is simple, It looks like a PH issue and your locking food out. 6.3 for hydro is pretty high if you ask me.

now that I'm awake, lol. doeboi hit the nail on the head. There is no way your in week 3-4 of flower. Your picture shows no bud sites what so ever. Speaking to a veg plant, your PH is off my friend. You need to figure out what PH level your plants will like. I would take the hydro plant and take the PH to 5.8-5.9 and the soil at 6.3-6.5 for starters. Simple PH your water and flush, then follow up with a PH feeding and let your plants recover. If in deed you are in flower, please post more pictures! I have yet to see a 4 week plant in flower with no open bud sites.

From those pics I would say you got about 7-8 weeks left for flowering that is you get every thing in control you said your 4th week into flowering are you sure? something is going on if this is true light leaks maybe there not getting 12-12 And you should not be feeding every time you water your right about that Hope you get it figured out

Sorry! Should have mentioned this before, the tank plant is not flowering, the three soil plants are flowering. The tank was just an experiment to learn hydro without taking on a full setup. I will post images of the flowering plants tonight when the lights go on, but the big single leaf is one from the flowering plants.

PPM in Hydro: 448
Dropping the PH in the tank slowly, we shall see what happens, but that explains allot.

Like I said, I am just learning hydro, I am learning as I go along.

I will post PH of soil run off when I water tonight. I bet that has something to do with it.

I water my soil plants with a PH of 6.7-6.8.

Watered with PH 6.7 water only, the results where mixed. The Harlequin runoff was at 7.9, Cheese at 6.6 and White Widow at 6.6.

PPM:

Harlequin: 880
Cheese: 153 - Flashing X10 - So.. 1530?
White Widow: 110 Flashing X10 = 1100

Because I flushed them with just water, I'm thinking the PPM might have been higher, the PH lower. The Harlequin can't have been that low to be at 7.9. Only the larger leaves on her are showing issues, the others are on maybe 20% of the leaves.

Bud shot is form the Harlequin.

Your plants are looking good man. You need to drop the ph in your soil! Those little dots and rusting/yellowing on the edges of your leaves is a CalMag issue. I would bet my crop on that one. When your ph is 6.5 or higher, it's harder to eat Cal and Mag. Just take the size of your pot, times it by 3 and flush with that many gallons of new ph's water. I would go with 6.3 as my target PH. After flushing make a nice new batch off food with a max amount of CalMag in it then feed. In a week your plants will show little to no sign of this issue. Remember, coco needs CalMag every feeding. If you don't, you will run into issues again down the road.

Nice bud sites by the way.

I agree with 12n12. I would suggest getting some dolomite lime and putting a couple Tbsp as a top dressing (work it into the top inch or so of soil). This will help with your cal/mag problem and also work to buffer your soil pH and bring your run-off down.

Thank you both for the advice! Have not had a single issue, not killed a single plant since I started. I was starting to wonder when something would go wrong. :)
