UK Growers -Alternative to Fox Farms soil in UK?

Fox Farms Ocean Forest seem to be the only soil anyone recommends online, but its not available in the UK anywhere i can find.

Can any UK growers give me a heads up on decent soil?

im using miracle grow just now. haven't harvested yet but seem to be coming on ok. would mixing in some perlite help?

Have you tried coco coir? 75% coco and 25% earthworm castings would be a nice growing medium.

what are the pros and cons with coco? im assuming good ariation vs less forgiving if not fed/watered on time..?

I'll tell you one thing. If you don't get sterilized compost/ seedling soil etc, you will get fungus gnats (IMO).
Unless you microwave the soil yourself in small batches.
That's my biggest tip. I only germ in soil now (gone hydro) but this has made a big difference when using cheap garden centre compost etc indoors. Outdoors, they just fly away or meet their predators.

I have talked to one guy online from the UK who is growing is Canna coco and using their nutrients with good results.

Bio bizz all mix is a good and widely available in the UK. And if you want a soil that hasn't got all the nutes already their light mix is also good, I really like the bio light mix as it allows me to be in charge of the nutes from the start

Hi Closetgardner, cheers for that, i will look into bio bizz. As someone who like to be in control of nutes from day one, what nutes do you suggest for autos? im using pretty standard all round stuff (baby bio in veg and a 2,2.5,4 flower feed later).

im looking for the right balance between decent crops and minimal effort/ investment. i dont really want to mix my own soil from 8 different ingredients, although i accept that if i do i will achieve better results. if i can buy off the shelf, or mix 2, or maximum 3 things to create my medium, then that works for me, in my situation.
